Long Valley, Kayaking, Birding and more
We love showing off and sharing our beautiful property with our members and neighbors. Here are a few opportunities for you to get out and see the land you help to conserve and restore:
Sept 16th from 6 to 8 pm - New Member Walk - if you joined between Aug 2009 and now, this walk is especially for you.
Sept 17th from 6 to 8 pm - Stewardship Circle & Land Partners Dusk Walk - especially for members at the Stewardship and Land Partner giving levels
Sept 19th - a morning and afternoon walk for all interested parties. This is the chance for the general public - not just ESF members - to enjoy the beauty of our Long Valley.
Oct 23 from 10 to noon - our stewardship director, Kim Hayes will show off one of her favorite lands to interested ESF members.
Nov 7th - early morning birding walk will be held.
Kayaking the Slough - date to be schedule, but we are hoping for early October.
And, if you are an intermediate skilled birding enthusiasts, on Tuesday, Sept 21, we need your help to carry out surveys of the waterfowl, waders, and peeps of Elkhorn Slough.
Fall walks are free, but we do ask you to RSVP to help us ensure the best experience for you and the land.

Tooting our Horn

We are very proud to have received the Federal Highway Administration "Exemplary Ecosystem Initiative" Award for exceptional environmental stewardship. The award was in recognition of outstanding commitment to environmental stewardship for developing an early partnership to protect and restore the sensitive Elkhorn Slough. This recognizes the years of work partnering with local, regional, State, and Federal partners on early mitigation planning by looking at the entire region venturing to connect conserved lands.
