Introducing the Sustaining the Slough Program

Changes book

ESF is excited to announce Sustaining the Slough, our new monthly or quarterly giving program. We understand that the current economic climate may make it difficult to give as much as you'd like. By giving monthly or quarterly, your gift will make a big difference to the Elkhorn Slough Foundation without having a major impact on your bank account.

Another benefit of belonging to the Sustaining the Slough program is that your membership will always remain current- no more renewal notices for you which also helps ESF reduce mailing costs. Whether you're a new or renewing member, it's easy to set up! You choose the payment schedule (monthly or quarterly) and the amount. Your credit card will automatically be charged per the option you choose.

Limited time offer! Charter members of the Sustaining the Slough program will receive a FREE copy of Changes in a California Estuary: A Profile of the Elkhorn Slough. Hurry! Supplies are limited.

Countywide Clean Up Day

Elkhorn Slough is once again participating in Monterey County Clean Up Day! Join us on Saturday, April 18th from 9am to noon to help clean up Kirby Park and surrounding areas. It will be a great day to get outside in the fresh air while making a difference in your community. We recommend that volunteers be 18 or older, but if you want to bring kids, please ensure that they are supervised at all times.

Scenic Kirby Park is a popular spot for families, kayakers, and walkers. The park features a wheelchair access path -- the only barrier-free trail along the Slough shore. Kirby Park is located in Watsonville on Elkhorn Rd, just a few miles from the Elkhorn Slough Reserve.

Want to help clean up Kirby Park? Please RSVP with Kim Hayes, ESF Stewardship Director at 320-9212.
