Greetings!
Welcome to the Torresen Marine e-Newsletter.
Each month we will publish seasonally relevant and
practical information for sailors. The July issue
features articles about cruising. We hope to
provide something for everyone from the casual
dinghy sailor to the serious offshore racer.
As always, we look forward to your comments and
suggestions. We are also interested in what topics
you would like to see. Email the Torresen
Sailing Newsletter to let us know what you
think.

Irving and Electa Johnson - Part I
by Kelley Petersen
When I started working at Torresen Marine I knew
very little on the subject of sailing. In an attempt to
further my education I would take home the VHS
tapes from the store shelves. It was Irving

by Dave and Jaja Martin, Guest Writers
This article was first published in Good Old Boat

everything ourselves: design, engineering,
construction, roofing, siding, plumbing, and
electrical.
Self-sufficiency is a state of mind we've brought
with
us from our cruising days. Meanwhile, Driver is sitting
regally in the boatyard where I work. She's a high-
and-dry monument to our current way
