Be the First to Rent These New Homes

This month we have three recent additions to OceanEdge with a very special offer for you. You can be the first to stay in one of these never-before-rented homes. Rent for three nights and you'll get the third night free!

Wapiti Creek is now renting as of March 1. This chalet style home lets in plenty of natural light through its large picture windows and accommodates up to six guests. Comfy chairs fill the living room, where you can all gather round the fireplace. Should the weather cooperate, you'll love the spacious outdoor living on the tiered deck.

Wapiti Creek

We recently introduced LegaSea on the Pond, and we're pleased to offer the same special discount. This is another chalet style home with beautiful picture windows facing the Beaver Pond with a peek of the ocean blue. There are beds for up to nine guests, so everyone sleeps in comfort. You'll relax around the river rock fireplace in plush leather luxury.

Light-filled LegaSea on the Pond.

The Lighthouse joined OceanEdge last year and quickly became a favorite. If you've stayed here before and left comments for the owners, you'll be glad to know they heard you: There's a beautiful new granite counter top in the kitchen, a new flat screen TV, a new plush love seat, and much more.  Three beautiful bedrooms sleep six guests, and your family dog is welcome, too.

Outdoor living at The Lighthouse.

This special offer is good through June 30th, so you can treat the whole clan to springtime fun at the beach for less. Call us soon to make sure you get the dates you want!

Spotting the Spouting -
Whale Watching from Manzanita

The best you will see from an OceanEdge living room or from the NeahKahNie Mountain lookout on Highway 101 is a spout of water; straight up, and it will be pushed off in the direction of the wind.

When you see a spout, the whale is preparing to dive. Move your gaze to watch 100 yards ahead and wait for the next spout. It can take anywhere from five to 20 minutes before the whale comes back up to breathe.  If you're lucky, you'll also spot the tail fin rising up out of the water as the whale pushes down into the dive. If you're super lucky, you'll see a full breach, i.e when the whale actually swims up out of the water and splashes back down.

We recommend binoculars or a telescope and eyes on the water.

Homes with a Whale of a View

If you have a hankering to watch for whales during their spring migration along the Oregon coast, take advantage of our 20% anniversary celebration discount, and book one of our ocean view properties. A few suggestions follow, but you can see our entire lineup of fabulous homes at our website.

Beach Bungalow

Stoke the fire in the fireplace and watch for spouting whales through large picture windows. Beach Bungalow sleeps 6 in two bedrooms and a sleeper sofa in the living room. During the low season the rent is a nicely affordable $130/night. Remember, you'll get 20% off, too!

Cherry Circle

This 3-story home offers myriad ocean views. Relax indoors by the cozy wood stove and watch for those whale spouts through your binoculars. Cherry Circle sleeps 8, and dogs are allowed for the low-season rate of $235/night (less 20%!).

Cheerry Circle

Up high on NeahKahNie Mountain sits NeahKahNie Sunset  with an unparalleled view of the ocean from the deck and the living room. (You can also watch the ocean from the private hot tub!)
