"The Spirit of the Almighty Lord is with me because the Lord has anointed ME to deliver good news to humble people." -The Greatest Love Story Ever Told
Your humility is the delivery mechanism for "good news."
Think about the people the angels were sent to deliver the good news that Christ had come; they were humble Shepherds and wise men (merchants) who came bearing "gifts."
Luke 1:30-33 recounts another delivery of good news:
"And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace (free, spontaneous, absolute favor and loving-kindness) with God. And listen! You will become pregnant and will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. He will be great (eminent) and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His forefather David, And He will reign over the house of Jacob throughout the ages; and of His reign there will be no end."
You will give birth to greatness, good news and authority.
But you must nurture it, until it is manifested fully to others (birthed.)
Nothing in nature lives for itself.
Rivers don't drink their own water.
Trees don't pick their own fruit.
The sun doesn't give warmth (or Vitamin D) for itself.
Flowers don't exude fragrance for themselves.
God lives in you, so you can live for others.
This Christmas, what radiates from your life to touch the less fortunate?
What can you give (physically, spiritually, intellectually, etc.) to fill a void in the lives of others?
Your greatest gift is sown, not received; it is released, not held back.
AND OTHERS MUST NOT DICTATE YOUR GIFT; NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT HAS BEEN ABUSED.
I was laughing recently at Starbucks because all of the retailers that try to be politically correct by saying "HAPPY HOLIDAYS."
God bless them, but they normally say it just as you are walking away and I found myself, at times while taking my bags off the checkstand, blurting "MERRY CHRISTMAS" back a little "abruptly."
That cannot be our witness. The Christmas message of giving and forgiveness cannot be tainted by an attitude (or you being offended.)
While pondering this, I heard a voice say, "LISTEN TO THE MUSIC" and it was: "O Come all Ye Faithful. Over the next 1o minutes, I heard, "Do You Hear What I Hear, Silent Night and Go Tell it on the Mountain."
I then realized that no matter how much they try to take "Christ" out of Christmas, HIS MESSAGE STILL LIVES IN THE MUSIC. The shout of praise to our King is still among men. Thank God there are no "Happy Holiday" songs.
Today, listen to the music. The music forever testifies the season when mankind's greatest miracle was yet to come.
REJOICE! Over 2000 years later, angels are still singing, nations are still declaring the birth of the King. He is the reason for the season. It was during this time a child was born, a Son was given, a prophecy was fulfilled.
I pray for prophetic fulfillment in your life this Christmas season.
That blessing overtakes you as you touch the lives of people.
Merry Christmas.
