"BUT THE Israelites did evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord gave them into the hand of Midian for seven years. And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of Midian the Israelites made themselves the dens which are in the mountains and the caves and the strongholds. For whenever Israel had sown their seed, the Midianites and the Amalekites and the people of the east came up against them. They would encamp against them and destroy the crops as far as Gaza and leave no nourishment for Israel, and no ox or sheep or donkey. For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came like locusts for multitude; both they and their camels could not be counted. So they wasted the land as they entered it. And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the Israelites cried to the Lord." -The Greatest Love Story Ever Told
The crops of Gaza represented the wealth or provision Israel laid up for their children.
Some of us have nothing to show for when it comes to "leaving an inheritance" for our seed (biological or spiritual; born or yet unborn).
It seems like every time we try to save up money (a down payment for property or funds to invest, buy a life insurance policy, create a trust, etc.) to nourish the future, the enemy comes in to attack or waste it.
Whenever the enemy attacks our wealth (or income), it is a direct attack on THE SEED - the inheritors or future generations we are destined to guide.
When the old generation of Israel refused to go up and possess Jericho (after marching in the wilderness two years), it tied up the inheritance for their children for an additional thirty eight years. And God had to allow the old to die, so the new generation could arise, take the land and not perpetuate the loss of inheritance to more generations.
King Solomon wrote: "A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children's children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up." (Prov. 13:22)
The purpose of wealth is to leave an inheritance (of possessed land, righteousness, favor, authority and influence) to the next generation.
It is laid up so you can extend it to others.
REPEAT THIS: "It is not the will of God for ME to die without possessing the wealth of the sinner."
The Israelites that left Egypt did not enter the Promised Land. Again, here, the Promised Land was the wealth of Canaan. So, to fulfill His promise to the older generation, God told Moses in Exodus 3:21-22:
"And I will give this people favor and respect in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you shall not go empty-handed. But every woman shall [insistently] solicit of her neighbor and of her that may be residing at her house jewels and articles of silver and gold, and garments, WHICH YOU SHALL PUT ON YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS; and you shall strip the Egyptians [of belongings due to you]."
Whenever you leave a comfortable place, for an unknown place (in pursuit of a promise), God gives you the wealth and resources of Egypt.
God gave them a taste of what the promise (the precious things of nations) would be like in Canaan.
RIGHT NOW, some of us are only living off a taste of what God has promised.
But the wealth and resources of the world will not be handed over to you on a silver platter; it must be stripped away in combat. And any change or redirection must come violently in your life.
Moses told the Israelites:
"But the land which you enter to possess is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water of the rain of the heavens, A land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are ALWAYS UPON IT from the beginning of the year to the end of the year" (Duet 11:11.)
God promised a land, authority and conquest that would yield increase in profuse abundance 365 days a year.
But they had to enter it.
They would possess houses they had not built, vineyards they had not planted, businesses they had not started, but they had to leave the wilderness to get it.
Today, what wilderness of bad decisions and work habits are you willing to leave to enter into what God has promised?
Our giving or effort is the result of our character.
In Mark 12:41 Jesus sits down opposite the treasury to see how the crowd was casting money into the treasury. He was not watching the amount of their gift, but rather the character and integrity of their gift."
This Christmas, change the integrity of your giving, efforts and "work ethic." BE THE MIRACLE. Give in such a way that moves Heaven to remember you.
Two nights ago, I got up at 4:00am and God led me to this passage in Judges 6:36-38:
"And Gideon said to God, If You will deliver Israel by my hand as You have said, Behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece only and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that You will deliver Israel by my hand, as You have said. AND IT WAS SO. When he rose early NEXT MORNING and squeezed the dew out of the fleece, he wrung from it a bowlful of water."
Whatever Gideon asked for that night, (God did it and) it was manifested in the morning.
Today, I decree 12 days of miracles in the next 12 days of Christmas for your life and DECLARE 3 IN 1.
I decree that whatever your businesses, careers, churches and households have failed to make in the last three months, YOU WILL MAKE IN ONE.
In Jesus Name, I pray, AMEN.
