"The king told them, Take the servants of your lord and cause Solomon my son to ride on my own mule and bring him down to Gihon [in the Kidron Valley]. And let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel. Then blow the trumpet and say, Long live King Solomon! Then you shall come up after him, and he shall come and sit on my throne, for he shall be king in my stead; I have appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah. And Benaiah son of Jehoiada answered the king and said, Amen! May the Lord, the God of my lord the king, say so too. As the Lord has been with my lord the king, even so may He be with Solomon and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord King David." - The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

When you are appointed and anointed by God to replace someone, there is blessing and permission on your life (and authority) to be greater.

When you try to appoint yourself, you will never rise above your predecessor.

Man cannot promote himself (that is exaltation.)  Election requires someone to put you there.

Someone or something else (God through a boss, client, political party, market share, group of consumers, team president, bank mortgage, landlord, etc.) must always put you in authority.

No matter what you call yourself, someone else must recognize your value (by the price of your sacrifice) before promotion comes.

Paul wrote in Philippians 4:8-10: "And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the Name that is above every name, that in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth;"

You cannot raise the value or compensation of that which you have not paid for. Everyone has a price they must pay. That word "pay" means

"To yield a return, profit, or advantage; be worthwhile; to give over (a certain amount of money) in exchange for something; to discharge an obligation by giving or doing something; to liquidate, reward, reimburse or indemnify."

What are you giving over the amount of compensation you demand? You are called to "pay" or "profit" your employer, client, industry or league.

  • What will you do to prove that hiring you was a good investment?
  • What are you doing to raise your stock or value where you are?
  • What are your promotional goods?

Some of you were given a chance when no one else would consider you. How are you planning to repay that back?

The Bible is filled with men and women who obtained the promise and position to influence, by faith-filled results.

2 Samuel 23 records a leadership chapter of David and his men:

"These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth, a Tahchemonite, chief of the Three [heroes], known also as Adino the Eznite; he wielded his spear and went against 800 men, who were slain at one time.   Next to him among the three mighty men was Eleazar son of Dodo, son of Ahohi. He was with David when they defied the Philistines assembled there for battle, and the men of Israel had departed.   [Eleazar] arose and struck down the Philistines until his hand was weary and clung to the sword.  Next to [Eleazar] was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. Now Abishai the brother of Joab son of Zeruiah was chief of the Three. He wielded his spear against 300 men and slew them, and won a name beside the Three. Was he not most renowned of the Three? So he was their captain;"

Right now, what kind of name have you won?

Who are you a captain of?  What kind of faith and results would be under consideration for the Hall of Faith? What are you doing that people should record and memorialize for future generations to see?

You have a responsibility to produce results (something great) with your faith. It was not given to you for mere natural use, but supernatural purpose.

Just the mere definition of faith implies that you can transform lives (and lifestyles) with it: "Faith is the substance of things HOPED FOR and evidence of things NOT SEEN YET."

What have you accomplished lately with it?

What have you brought into existence (in your life) from nothing (the unseen realm?)

Faith produces results that have never been dared or seen before. Faith creates results out of nothing, dead ends, impossibilities and hopeless situations.

Real simple, it makes what is unseen, seen.  It need not brag or boast, as that simply distracts its purpose.

All it needs is a stage.

Today, extend yours. Take care of the "mule" you are riding.
