"Our iniquities, our secret heart and its sins [which we would so like to conceal even from ourselves], You have set in the [revealing] light of Your countenance. For all our days [out here in this wilderness, says Moses] pass away in Your wrath; we spend our years as a tale that is told [for we adults know we are doomed to die soon, without reaching Canaan]." - The Greatest Love Story Ever Told
What if you knew your days were numbered, without achieving all that is in your heart?
· That dream marriage
· That dream bill of health
· That dream job (or career)
· That dream business
· That dream house and car
· That dream college and scholarship
Would that really be ok with you?
Every action or inaction has an impact on the potential delivery of your dream to humanity.
You can live your entire life wasting years in one barren place; in a place of temporary confusion, lack, passivity and exhaustion; wandering without clarity, and purpose -- all alone.
But right now, God wants to restore your hope, so He can restore the plans and excitement that once consumed your days. You don't have to die unfulfilled. You don't have to waste years wallowing in the shadow of failed expectations, broken vows, mistakes, shame and pity.
God still specializes in transforming what is pitiful into powerful.
How were you running (in Christ) before your life was turned upside down; before he left, before she cheated, before they lied on you, before that person didn't believe the "best" in you, didn't support you, didn't let you preach or lead the department?
What were you doing before the business failed, before the position was terminated, before you lost the child, before the home was foreclosed, before the car was repossessed, before the IRS audit; before the recession started, before the cancer was diagnosed, the disease was detected, the sin was exposed, the lifestyle came out of closet and humiliated you?
Start doing that again.
God reveals our secrets to preserve our integrity, dreams and destiny. And what you do "daily" afterwards, determines whether you will possess or "see" your promise from a distance and then die.
Historically, God has given humanity eighty to one hundred years to accomplish its task on earth.
"The days of our years are threescore years and ten (seventy years)-or even, if by reason of strength, fourscore years (eighty years); yet is their pride [in additional years] only labor and sorrow, for it is soon gone, and we fly away." (Ps 90:10)
Caleb at the ripe old age of eighty five, said: "I am as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me; as my strength was then, so is my strength now for war and to go out and to come in. So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke that day. For you heard then how the [giantlike] Anakim were there and that the cities were great and fortified; if the Lord will be with me, I shall drive them out just as the Lord said." (Josh. 14:11-12)
Forget about your age or how the physical circumstance looks right now.
What did God SPEAK THAT DAY?
God wants to give you what He spoke that day; what He promised in the days of your strength, before you failed.
Are you willing to engage in warfare (fight) for it? Regardless of what your physical circumstance looks like, remember:
"The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear?" (Pr. 18:14)
Your spirit man is still perfect, unscathed, unsullied, unashamed and strong enough to sustain you through the most crushing season of your life.
You will either pass your days away in the wrath or favor of God. YOU DECIDE.
How many of you took our 7 day "GOLD RUSH" challenge and completed a deadline for something God spoke to your heart to do?
Are you ready for another one? Over the next seven days, mark out each day to complete another task towards making your dreams a reality: Read a chapter a day, fill out an application a day, request or respond to a bid per day, take on a project no one wants per day.
Every dream needs hope and a plan.
Today, what is your plan to get out of the rut of stagnation, depression, regret, pity or shame you are in?
Your life doesn't have to end like a tale that is told (fiction.) Change the script and live "happily transformed ever after."
