"But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable [in itself alone] without [resorting to] boastful comparison with his neighbor.  For every person will have to bear (be equal to understanding and calmly receive) his own [little] load [of oppressive faults]."  -The Apostle Paul

We all have a "little load" of nagging, oppressive faults.

We must be careful not to consume ourselves with testing the conduct of others.

But if we must confront a fault or sin in someone else's life, Paul explained how to do that:

"BRETHREN, IF any person is overtaken in misconduct or sin of any sort, you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the Spirit] should set him right and restore and reinstate him, without any sense of superiority and with all gentleness, keeping an attentive eye on yourself, lest you should be tempted also.  Bear (endure, carry) one another's burdens and *troublesome moral faults, and in this way fulfill and observe perfectly the law of Christ (the Messiah) and complete *what is lacking [in your obedience to it].  For if any person thinks himself to be somebody [too important to condescend to shoulder another's load] when he is nobody [of superiority except in his own estimation], he deceives and deludes and cheats himself."  (Gal 6:1-3)

Bearing with another's faults without judgment helps complete what is lacking in your life (in the Word of God.)

Don't deceive, delude and cheat yourself of being all God purposed you to be.  You are called to be a repairer of the breach; a restorer of paths to dwell in.

Today, I invite you to be a part of the "you who are" group.  Please note that every will not join you in this calling.  There are some who will not be spiritual or responsive to or controlled by the Spirit of God to restore and reinstate others with gentleness and without a sense of superiority.

The next time someone comes to you with gossip, degrading or deriding someone because of their sin, failure or misconduct, tell them, "I'm sorry, I am not a part of that group; I'm a part of the YOU WHO ARE group.  Tell me how we can bring restoration to this situation; a solution to this unfortunate situation."

God wants us to be to others what we would want them to be to us if we failed or missed the mark.

We don't fall to the same things, but we all have faults.

Resist the urge to discriminate them.

Today, God is calling you to restore and reinstate in gentleness.  If you were the injured party, this will not be an easy process.

That word "restore" in Hebrew and Greek means: to mend a breach - repair; to live, revive - keep alive, nourish, preserve, quicken, recover and repair.  It is to restore back to original standing, (i.e. that existed before a fall;) to return back to the (ultimate) ideal; to enjoy again (i.e. what was taken away by a destructive or life-dominating power.)  It is to stand, build, carry, erect, establish, make good, make fresh again, renew and strengthen.

"Gentleness" means to restore with meekness ("gentle strength") which expresses power with reserve and gentleness; Displaying the right blend of force and reserve (gentleness). Strength in gentleness avoids unnecessary harshness, yet without compromising or being too slow to use necessary force.  Meekness is the fruit (product) of the Holy Spirit (Gal 5:23), i.e. it is never something humanly accomplished (or simply "biological") (strongnumbers.com.)

You cannot always restore something in your own strength.  Sometimes God must repair the breach or extend His grace through you.  God uncovers what man covers up so he can heal and repair it.

The Band-Aid is off.

God is now ready to restore that wound beyond human recognition.
