"Take it from Richard, poor and lame,
what's begun in anger ends in shame."

"O Lord, though our iniquities testify against us [prays Jeremiah], deal and work with us for Your own name's sake [that the heathen may witness Your might and faithfulness]! For our backslidings are many; we have sinned against You.  O Hope of Israel, her Savior in time of trouble, why should You be like a sojourner in the land and like a wayfaring man who turns aside and spreads his tent to tarry [only] for a night?  Why should You be [hesitant and inactive] like a man stunned and confused, like a mighty man who cannot save? Yet You, O Lord, are in the midst of us, and we are called by Your name; do not leave us!"  -The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

Jeremiah was not interested in a one night fling with blessing or miracles.

The cry of his heart was to "ONCE AGAIN" live a lifestyle of miracles, favor, promotion, influence, increase, power and authority.

He came boldly to the throne of God (in a time of need) even though his people were unfaithful to GOD (through idolatry and foreign alliance), the leadership of the nation was corrupt, kings neglected to ensure justice and an army invasion was impending.

He had every reason to be ashamed by association.  Yet in the passage above, Jeremiah prayed one of the boldest prayers in Biblical history from a nation mired in sin:

"(GOD) Why should You be [hesitant and inactive] like a man stunned and confused, like a mighty man who cannot save? Yet You, O Lord, are in the midst of us, and we are called by Your name; do not leave us!"

Shame has never been our inheritance.  It is from the enemy because he knows that it will keep us from pursuing our relationship with God.  Shame is an underestimated emotional injury that damages all relationships; a hidden torment that seeks to make you hide from God and isolate yourself from others that love you (or can help.)

But boldness is in our heritage.

It's funny, no matter how children act up, they still expect blessing, provision and favor from their parents.

They still feel entitled to access what is in the house no matter how they have failed.

That's the type of boldness God expects us to come to the throne of God with:

"Lord, I know I have fallen short, I have failed, messed up, walked in pride, greed, bitterness, unforgiveness, rejection and passivity, but deal and work for me FOR YOUR GREAT NAME'S SAKE.  I need a miracle.  I know I didn't eat right, I know I didn't pay the bill on time, I know I didn't pay the taxes on time, I know I wasn't a loyal employee and my sins are many, but revive, restore, refresh and renew me ONCE AGAIN."

One of the two greatest prayers you can pray is:

  • "GOD DO IT FOR YOUR NAME'S SAKE AND
  • DO IT ONCE AGAIN"

Haggai wrote: "For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake and make tremble the [starry] heavens, the earth, the sea, and the dry land.  And I will shake all nations and the desire and the precious things of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with splendor, says the Lord of hosts."  (Hag 2:6-8)

In Judges 16:28-30, Samson, ashamed and humiliated, called to the Lord and said, "O Lord God, [earnestly] remember me, I pray You, and strengthen me, I pray You, only this once, O God, and let me have one vengeance upon the Philistines for both my eyes."

And history says those he slew THAT DAY were more than they whom he slew in his entire life.

THIS IS YOUR ONCE MORE MOMENT.  God is shutting the mouth of your accuser.

Today, God is shaking the desire of new witnesses, new healing, new opportunities, new promotions, new venture capitalist and bank funding, unexpected tax refunds, supernatural debt cancelations and transfers of wealth into your possession.

The hand of God has turned the tide. The hand of God is raised in victory!  You will live and not die.  Houses, land, businesses, anointing and honor will be possessed again in your lifetime.  Once more, you can be used by God for His love and kindness towards us is unshakeable.

Isaiah wrote: "For this is like the days of Noah to Me; as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you.  For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed, says the Lord, Who has compassion on you." (Isa. 54:9-10)

The days of Noah were exceedingly sinful; unlike any other.

Yet God said, "Even if that were to occur in the days of Ed or (your name), I will not depart from you.  I will remember My covenant despite your inconsistency and failure."

But you can't have restoration without repentance.

Shame on you?

God erases the shame of our past.

In the worst days of our life when we have failed God the most, God still flashes rainbows in the sky to remind us of His favor that still remains.
