"Behold, I will harden (make stubborn and strong) the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall go [into the sea] after them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and horsemen. The Egyptians shall know and realize that I am the Lord when I have gained honor and glory over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen. And the *Angel of God Who went BEFORE the host of Israel moved and went BEHIND them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before them and stood behind them, coming between the host of Egypt and the host of Israel. It was a cloud and darkness to the Egyptians, but it gave light by night to the Israelites; and the one host did not come near the other all night. Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night and made the sea DRY LAND; and the waters were divided. And the Israelites went into the midst of the sea on DRY GROUND, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. The Egyptians pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. And in the morning watch the Lord through the pillar of fire and cloud looked down on the host of the Egyptians and discomfited [them] and bound (clogged, took off) their chariot wheels, making them drive heavily; and the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians! Then the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots and horsemen. So Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength and normal flow when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled into it [being met by it]; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians and shook them off into the midst of the sea. The waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that pursued them; not even one of them remained. -The Story of the Israelites Crossing the Red Sea
When you think about the miracle of the Red Sea it is unexplainable.
God defies the laws of gravity to take His people through the Red Sea on dry ground.
The Red Sea stands up as a wall on the right and the left and stays there.
Nothing truly explains what or how this happened. It makes no sense, until David explains it in Psalms 77:16-19:
"When the waters [at the Red Sea and the Jordan] saw You, O God, they were afraid; the deep shuddered also, FOR [ALL] THE WATERS SAW YOU. The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind, the lightnings illumined the world; the earth trembled and shook. Your way [in delivering Your people] was through the sea, and Your paths through the great waters, yet Your footsteps were not traceable, but were obliterated."
God's way in delivering you is through something.
No scientific evidence supports what happened at the Red Sea. All we know is that when the Red Sea SAW GOD, it fled.
And His footsteps were not traceable, but were obliterated. That means He walked right in the middle of their crisis to bring them their greatest victory and they didn't even know it.
God looked down out of the cloud and stepped between His army and their enemies. As if to say, "You want to come at my defenseless people with weapons? You wanna fight? I'll show you; Why don't you pick on someone your own size?"
They thought the Red Sea divided (a door opened) because of a man; but the Red Sea saw God!
You see, God is not moved by the size of your opposition.
For an entire night, the Lord put a pillar of a cloud between the Israelites and the Egyptians.
It was a cloud and darkness over the Egyptians; but gave light "by night" to the Israelites. God said, "I will put my presence between you and the enemy that they cannot come near you all night long. And in the morning, not one of them will remain."
Imagine that! The enemy was unable to see how and where to strike the Israelites. And God was turning their military attack into a worthless pursuit.
Moses had told them, the Egyptians you see today, you will see no more.
So they began to pray.
Immediately, God said, "Why are you praying? I didn't tell you to have a prayer meeting. You've been doing that for 400 years. That's why I sent Moses (a deliverer to respond to your cry.) NOW IS THE TIME TO GO FORWARD; See if I will not defy the laws of gravity and open the rivers for you to lure the enemy in and make them honor and respect me."
Moses had the right word but the wrong (military) strategy.
Sometimes, we know what God has told us to do:
- We have a plan to get up the courage to one day start a business.
- We have a dream and passion to be a deliverer, leader, spokesperson, advocate, writer, teacher, or moral reformer, etc.
- We have a call to lead a certain group of people into a Promised Land of milk and honey, hills and valleys.
But we don't know how we are going to do it.
All we have is a Word and the enemy (intimidation) is coming.
NOW IS THE TIME TO GO FORWARD. You can pray and stay in one place for years accomplishing nothing. Put feet to your faith; Defy gravity.
FLY.
God has promised to take the wheels off the chariots of those that rise against us; He will discomfit and frustrate them.
Today, something must flee because of the anointing, leadership, power and influence on your life.
- When you speak to a mountain, it must move.
- When you step into an atmosphere or element designed to drown or suffocate, it must sustain you.
- When you enter a room, conspiracy, sickness, strife, anger, conflict and disunity must disipitate.
The enemy will always think he has defeated you before he is eventually drowned.
Yet, when defeat seems imminent, God will bring you ultimate victory; your greatest one yet, to defy history and all odds.
