"Be not afraid of them [their faces], for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, BEHOLD, I HAVE PUT MY WORDS IN YOUR MOUTH. See, I have this day appointed you to the oversight of the nations and of the kingdoms TO ROOT OUT AND PULL DOWN, TO DESTROY AND TO OVERTHROW, TO BUILD AND TO PLANT. Moreover, THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME TO ME, saying, Jeremiah, what do you see? And I said, I see a branch or shoot of an almond tree [THE EMBLEM OF ALERTNESS AND ACTIVITY, blossoming in late winter]. Then said the Lord to me, you have seen well, for I am alert and active, WATCHING OVER MY WORD TO PERFORM IT." Jer. 1:8-12
Sometimes, the Word of God blossoms (or comes to pass) late in a season.
But we have a responsibility to be alert, active and watch over our words in the interim.
As leaders, we have a habit of hearing a good idea (lesson, practice or principle) but not repeating it. We have a habit of hearing the Word, but not declaring it. IN OTHER WORDS, WE HEAR THE WORD OF GOD MUCH MORE THAN WE ACTUALLY SPEAK IT.
But the Word of God is only alive and powerful when spoken. The Word of the Lord will always come to you, to declare it (or send it back to God.)
Consider this: When you hear something, it is information (you are being "informed.") However, when you repeat or declare something, it is revelation (you are "learning or applying" it supernaturally.)
The Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah several times warning of an imminent attack from the enemy to prepare his words (for a crisis.)
In verse 17-19, God told Jeremiah: "But you [Jeremiah], gird up your loins! Arise and tell them ALL that I command you. Do not be dismayed and break down at the sight of their faces, LEST I CONFOUND YOU BEFORE THEM AND PERMIT YOU TO BE OVERCOME For I, behold, I have made you this day a fortified city and an iron pillar and bronze walls against the whole land - against the [successive] kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land [giving you divine strength which no hostile power can overcome]. And they shall fight against you, BUT THEY SHALL NOT [FINALLY] PREVAIL AGAINST YOU, for I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you."
God's Word makes you a fortified city to anchor a workplace or champion a cause through crisis (or hostile attack.)
The enemy has permission to fight against the truth, but not prevail against it.
Therefore, your foes need divine permission to overcome you.
God told Jeremiah, "I have put MY WORDS in your mouth." In other words, I will give you a voice which the enemy (or no hostile power) can overcome. But He warned, "If you become dismayed, break down and cower from speaking to your enemies, you forfeit and will lose."
You live or die, rise or fall not by what people say about you, but by the "words" you say.
What are you saying in your presentations, interviews, trials, campaigns, business, industry, ministry, church or city?
When we are unprepared or afraid in the face of disaster, disease, calamity or bad news, God will put HIS WORDS in our mouth. Jesus confirmed this in Luke 21:14 when He said: "For I [Myself] will give you a mouth and such utterance and wisdom that ALL OF YOUR FOES COMBINED will be unable to stand against or refute."
Use your mouth as a weapon against the enemy, not against those you love. Your tongue carries the power of life or death. WE USE "WORDS" FOR ALL MAJOR MILESTONES IN OUR LIVES (When we are engaged and married, to accept Christ, to interview, to preach the gospel, to train our kids, to mentor, to forgive, to take down a walled city, to free 6 million from Egypt in bondage, etc.)
Have you ever tried to go into a presentation, speaking engagement, training session, contract negotiation, interview or courtroom unprepared?
It's the worst feeling and everyone in the room knows you are not prepared (It can be really embarrassing.)
But God never sends us into any battle unprepared, without His Word(s.)
It is His prime weapon of warfare to put His enemies to shame.
Your life will be dead (nonexistent) and inoperative until your mouth comes out of idleness and dares to speak.
Matthew 12:35-37 says: "The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things. But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every IDLE (INOPERATIVE, NONWORKING) WORD THEY SPEAK. For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced."
Our words are designed to go (or fling forth) into our future.
Today is a product of what you declared, scheduled, planned or sowed yesterday.
