"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory or defeat."

 -Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919)
26th president of the United States

"And WHEN the Lord your God brings you into the land which He SWORE to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you, with GREAT AND GOODLY CITIES which you did not build, and houses full of all good things which you did not fill, and cisterns hewn out which you did not hew, and vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant, and when you eat and are full, then beware lest you forget the Lord, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." -The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

God swore houses and land to me.

He is going to do it.

It's not a matter of IF, but WHEN; if I can just dare dream, see and believe it.  My Heavenly Father will never deceive or lie to me regarding a spoken inheritance (or promise.)

Jesus said, "There is no one who has given up and left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for My sake and for the Gospel's who will not receive A HUNDRED TIMES AS MUCH NOW IN THIS TIME--houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions--and in the age to come, eternal life."

God promised me territory, cities and people in my lifetime (if I give up some things.)  Whatever I fail to take, He will give to the generation I raise up behind me.  In Numbers 16, we find an interesting story of Moses dealing with a rebellious uprising in the camp that is illustrative of how God will validate your leadership and call in history:

"NOW KORAH son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram sons of Eliab, and On son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, TOOK MEN, and they rose up before Moses,  And Moses said, by this you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I do not act of my own accord: If these men die the common death of all men or IF [ONLY] WHAT HAPPENS TO EVERYONE HAPPENS TO THEM, then the Lord has not sent me. BUT IF THE LORD CAUSES A NEW THING [TO HAPPEN], and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up, with all that belongs to them, and they go down alive into Sheol (the place of the dead), then you shall understand that these men have provoked (spurned, despised) the Lord! As soon as he stopped speaking, the ground under the offenders split apart."

Now my focus is not the earthquake that swallowed these offenders; but on Moses' bold faith and statement,
"If God has sent me to lead you and do all these miracles, then He will do something uncommon that has never seen before."

It doesn't take faith to believe for something you've seen, interviewed for or accomplished before.

Recently,
God challenged me to look for vacant properties and ask the owners to donate the building to Champions to train leaders and people in career transition trying to land their dream job.  At first, I was reluctant and very afraid.  And although, I am still awaiting a response on the first one, it was really the only thing God could've done to ignite and enlarge my faith and vision to dream more (and bigger.)  Now, I have a new passion to inherit all that is in HIS WILL.

Sometimes, we can be so successful that we become excessively or subconsciously dependent on our credentials, awards, knowledge, effort and ability that we trust them alone to carry us to our destiny.

Sometimes, we fail to let God participate OR "in" on the plan or dream.

He gave it to us, but we act as if we are going to bring it to pass-ALL BY OURSELVES. Sure we pray daily and thank God for progress payments, but even then, often there is just too much physical reliance involved that leaves God out of the picture.

Imagine this: The Creator of the Universe wants to do something incredible in your life that is uncommon to humanity.  In His Son, He left us a legacy.  He wants to be apart of building it.  A legacy is an inheritance; it is anything handed down from the past as from an ancestor or predecessor.

RIGHT NOW:

  • You are preceding someone.
  • You are blazing a trail for someone to find, follow, benefit from or be inspired to blaze their own.
  • Someone (in your bloodline) went before you and left something behind.

What is it?

For some of us, it wasn't much or what we thought we deserved.  But how will you change your contribution to humanity this go around?

Are you proud of your professional and personal decisions so far?

Is your current legacy worthy of teaching, publicizing or inspiring someone in your city?

The origin word for legacy is: "legate."  In Roman history, "a legate" was: a messenger, ambassador, delegate or someone sent on a mission to represent the interests of someone else.

In the latter part of the 1st century BC, Julius Caesar initiated the practice of appointing legates to command legions (3-6,000 picked or chosen soldiers) in the army; Legates received large shares of the army's booty at the end of a military campaign, which made the position a lucrative one.

You will never leave a legacy by serving your own interests.

You have an anointing and responsibility to confront what's destroying the lives of people you touch; to launch a military strategy and strike that says to the enemy: NO MORE, NO FAR; YOU'RE NOT WANTED HERE. TURN AROUND AND GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM.

Today, declare war against thoughts that are trying to discourage and kill your untapped potential.  Ask yourself:

  • How will I leave a legacy in my workplace or sphere of influence?
  • How will I extend the legacy of my employer or church in that industry or city?

Leaving a legacy is intentional.

So, initiate a campaign of faith.  God has promised you some stuff; Get your dream out of foreclosure.

You cannot influence anyone until you conquer something and God possesses you.
