A Kingdom of (NAME YOUR PROFESSION), Kings and Priests

"Now therefore, if you will obey My voice in truth and keep My covenant, THEN YOU SHALL BE MY OWN PECULIAR POSSESSION AND TREASURE FROM AMONG AND ABOVE ALL PEOPLES; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests, a holy nation [consecrated, set apart to the worship of God]"  -The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

You are consecrated and set apart as kings and priests in your industry.

In ancient times, a priest was a mediator between God and man responsible to bring the whole nation before God in prayer.  The priest was the advocate before God and God's spokesman to them.

Likewise, you are called to be God's own treasure in the earth as a Kingdom of priests in a particular field, region or industry (Healthcare, sports, government, neighborhoods, schools, etc;) You are called to bring fivefold ministry and representation of God to the workplace and profession you represent.  Yes, even to those difficult people you work and learn with.

Some of us are waiting for our ship to come in, not realizing that we are already on it.

On that job you hate or that you are hated, it seems like you made a mistake, yet you are simply on a connecting flight to reach your final destination.  We want nonstop flights.  But, sometimes we have to endure multiple stops, layovers and travel next to difficult people before reaching our gate or destination.

Don't miss your connections (with men and women, in workplaces, campuses and cities.)

If you refuse to touch just one, you may delay the arrival of your destiny.

So, where will you function as kings and priests at?

What you are called to do is often determined by whom or what kind of problems keep coming to you.

In 1 Chronicles 12, the rise of David to his throne is recorded as follows:

"THESE ARE the ones who came to David at Ziklag, while he yet concealed himself because of Saul son of Kish; they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war. They were bowmen and could use the right hand or the left to sling stones or shoot arrows from the bow; Of the Gadites there went over to David to the stronghold in the wilderness men of might, men trained for war who could handle shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions, and who were swift as gazelles on the mountainsFor at that time DAY BY DAY men kept coming to David to help him, until there was a great army, like the army of God.  All these, being men of war arrayed in battle order, came with a perfect and sincere heart to Hebron to make David king over all Israel; AND ALL THE REST ALSO OF ISRAEL WERE OF ONE MIND TO MAKE DAVID KING."

You cannot make yourself an authority (king) in something just by studying.

Others must consume, experience and recognize the call, anointing, gift and value you are.  You will never truly reign as the king you are called to be without a domain or citizens (to touch, lead, build, influence and rule among.)

In Christ, there is a King inside you regardless of gender.

Scripture says, DAY BY DAY, men kept coming to David.

Who or what type of problems are coming to you for leadership and guidance constantly?

God has given you every place your feet are destined and determined to tread on.

Refuse to overreach.  In his book, "How the Mighty Fall," Jim Collins writes:

"Big mergers or acquisitions that do not fit with your core values or that undermine your culture or that run counter to that at which you've proven to be best in the world or that defy economic logic-big acquisitions taken out of bravado rather than penetrating insight and understanding-can bring you down."

What are you unique in?

Are you trying to become an expert in a philosophy or leadership style God is opposed to?

Friend, your distinction is in your anointing (divine edge and niche.)  When people keep coming to you, it's because they belong to you. We have been called to take the kingdoms or rulers of this world and make them kingdoms of the Lord our Christ.

It's exciting to know that God draws skilled and passionate people to help make us what he has called us to be.  As they come, we are responsible to set government in place; to set laws in their lives so they prosper, experience God, signs and wonders in their daily living.

They're yours.  It's time you stop avoiding them, thinking someone else will reach them.  We are called to make miracles happen.

God always calls us to A PEOPLE or A PERSON to PIONEER something.

1.      Leaders that God called to A PEOPLE (an industry or profession):
·        Moses was called out of the wilderness to respond to the cry of the Israelites (Ex 3:9.)
·        Joseph was called out of prison to save Egypt and his nation (Gen. 45:5-8; 50:20.)
·        Peter and the disciples were called out of the marketplace to reach the lost sheep of Israel (Matt. 10:5-6.)
·        Paul was called out of church persecution and blindness and separated to reach Gentiles and businessmen (Acts 13:2-3, 46-47; Rom. 11:13.)

2.      Leaders that God called to A PERSON (household, employer/workplace for a season.)
·        God called Noah to prepare an ark to the saving of his household (Heb. 11:7.)
·        Jacob worked for Laban with a spotted sheep strategy (Gen. 30:25-43.)
·        Daniel was a Chief Governor over all the wise men in Babylon (Dan. 2:48.)
·       God called Mary to carry and nurture the Son of God (and Joseph to protect him from abortionists) (Lk. 1:26-37.)
·        John the Baptist was called to be a forerunner for Christ (Mk 1:6-8.)

3.      Leaders that became A PIONEER, movement or nation.
·        Jacob became a nation (Israel) (Dt. 26:5.)
·        Jesus birthed the NT Kingdom church with power and disciples of it (Matt 16:18.)

Where are you serving as an industry evangelist; a spokesperson or marketplace apostle (pioneer?)

Whether you have been called to a people or a person (to pioneer), God wants to use you.

God is faithful to give you a strategy whether you are employed (Jacob/Nehemiah), in military (Jehu/David), politics (Solomon), construction (Noah), prison (Joseph), hiding (Gideon), shame (Samson), or wilderness (Joshua.)

No industry or situation limits God.

Today, what cry have you heard in your heart?

Who keeps coming to you?  What are you doing creatively to reach them?

Some of us are doing nothing with them.

EXERCISE:
Take an index card and number it 1-5.  Then, describe the type of people or problems that keep coming to you and answer this question:

Am I called to a people or a person (to pioneer something?)

Once you figure this out, design your life creatively around reaching, teaching, touching and training them.

PRAYER:
Lord, I receive the inheritance and responsibility of nations.  I receive the kingdom of the (NAME IT) industry.  It's my responsibility.  You set Moses over six million men.  Set me over whatever you see fit.  Whoever, whatever you give me, I am determined to bring at least a tenth of all the acquaintances or people I meet.  I may not reach all of them, but I will strive to be faithful over the tithe (a tenth of ALL.)
