"The people closest to me determine my level of success or failure.  The better they are, the better I am.  And if I want to go to the highest level, I can do it only with the help of other people.  We have to take each other higher."

Are You LOYAL?

"Today, if you will hear His voice, Harden not your hearts as at Meribah and as at Massah in the day of temptation in the wilderness, When your fathers tried My patience and tested Me, proved Me, and saw My work [of judgment].  Forty years long was I grieved and disgusted with that generation, and I said, It is a people that do err in their hearts, and they do not approve, acknowledge, or regard My ways. Wherefore I swore in My wrath that they would not enter My rest [the land of promise]."   -The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

There is a generation that pleases God and finally enters His promise of rest.

This generation refuses to die in the unconquered mistakes of predecessors or parents.  They are a group of people that cease from all labors and no longer struggle to defeat past enemies, fears and failures; They reach a place, decision and destiny where they conquer and take rightful possession of what belongs to them.

Are you apart of that generation?

Whenever we make a decision to defeat an enemy or bad habit that occupies an area of our life, there is rest from the struggle.

  • No more defeats by the hands of the strong man.
  • No more wars between the flesh and the spirit.
  • No more moral lapses in conquered areas.
  • No more cursing.
  • No more fighting.
  • No more immoral thoughts and addiction.

There are certain areas in our life that we have only conquered, because we have surrendered.

But there are others that we lock behind a fortress of sin, shame and failure and until we surrender them to God (and stop defending them) there will never be any defeat (or victory.)

War and conflict keep you out of the land of promise and dreams.

Just because you haven't done something in a while, doesn't mean you have defeated it.  True conquest comes when you destroy what is trying to destroy you and silence your enemy (or that area of your life) once and for all.

My Pastor, Neville McDonald, recently said, "God wants to turn entry points (that generational curses have into your life) into exits."

Likewise, I believe God's greatest desire for us is total victory.  Total victory from every instability, every temptation, every bondage, every oppression, every diagnosis, every bad habit, every plot, trap and assignment of the enemy.

Samuel told His people:

"If you will revere and fear the Lord and serve Him and hearken to His voice and not rebel against His commandment, and if both you and your king will follow the Lord your God, it will be good!  But if you will not hearken to the Lord's voice, but rebel against His commandment, then the hand of the Lord will be against you, as it was against your fathers." 1 Sam 12[14-15]

Disloyalty on a team destroys potentially great organizations.

In John Maxwell's book "Mentoring 101," he writes:

"When you're looking for potential leaders, if someone you're considering lacks loyalty, he is disqualified.  Don't even consider trying to develop him, because in the end, he'll hurt you more than help you.

So what does it mean for others to be loyal to you?

  • They love you unconditionally.  They accept you with your strengths and weaknesses intact.  They genuinely care for you, not just for what you can do for them.  And they are neither trying to make you into something you're not nor putting you on a pedestal.
  • They represent you well to others.  Loyal people always paint a positive picture of you to others.  They may take you to task privately or hold you accountable, but they never criticize you to others.
  • They are able to laugh and cry with you as you travel together.  Loyal people are willing and able to share together. Loyal people are willing and able to share your joys and sorrows.  They make the trip less lonely.
  • They make your dream, their dream.  Some people will undoubtedly share the journey with you only briefly.  You help one another for a while and then go your separate ways.  But a few-a special few-will want to come alongside you and help you for the rest of the journey.  These people make your dream their dream.  They will be loyal unto death, and when they combine that loyalty with other talents and abilities, they can be some of your most powerful assets.  If you find people like that, take good care of them."

Today, God wants to take great care of you.

Are you loyal or rebellious?

Dictionary.com defines rebellion as: Resistance to or defiance of any authority, control, or tradition. Open, organized, and armed resistance to one's government or ruler; it is insubordination or disobedience.

Some people are in organized rebellion.  But there is a reward for everything we do.

Reign in life as champions. Get in unity with your dream, leader, organization and mission.

Pray this:

  • Lord, I accept authority in my life.
  • Authority is Your plan.
  • It is Your best will for me.
  • I understand without authority there is confusion, disorder, strife and every evil imaginable thing.
  • But with the right authority there is protection, favor, order, inheritance, promotion and recovery!

Who will you submit to today?

Surrender is a choice.
