"The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible].  Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.  [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment]. [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him."  -The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

There are a people on the earth designed to be "living memorials" to the incredible and faithful promises of God.

  • To inspire people that dreams do come true.
  • That promises do happen.
  • That no word from God is without power or impossible of fulfillment.
  • That the integrity of His Word within us is unfailing.

Some people look at our lives and say, "How can you speak (or preach) of a promise that you are not living in?"  But when I'm planted in the house (and will) of God, God is always mindful of matters, dreams and plans concerning me.

He said: "[Growing in grace] you will still bring forth fruit in old age; you will be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment]. You will be a living memorial to show that I am upright and faithful to My promises;"

In other words, "Don't rush me. Wait on me; I'm building character, legacy, success and durability into your life; I'm building a "living memorial" for future generations to see."  Dictionary.com defines that word "memorial" as: something designed to preserve the memory of a person, event, etc., as a monument or a holiday; something serving as commemorative.

In Joshua 4, when a new generation of Israelites finally conquered their fears (parent's giants) and fully passed over the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua:

"Pass over before the ark of the Lord your God in the midst of the Jordan, and take up every man of you a stone on his shoulder, as is the number of the tribes of the Israelites, that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, What do these stones mean to you? Then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it passed over the Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off. So these stones shall be to the Israelites a memorial forever."

The Israelites hadn't defeated one city yet.  All they did was make a decision to crossover into the territory of their enemies. Yet God still commanded they build a memorial to draw the attention of future generations to ASK: "What did this decision, career, dream, or cause mean to you."

God wants to mark your vision (starting with the decision to pursue it) with something notable and commemorative; a record or memory of where he brought you from to where He has purposed you to be.

We will be "living memorials" that:

  • God will not fail.
  • He will not relent.
  • He will not deceive or lie.
  • All He has promised will come to pass.

But nothing in life just happens.  We must be intentional in building memories of how and why we reached for something bigger than us to unveil it to future generations.

King Solomon wrote: "Wealth [not earned but] won in haste or unjustly or from the production of things for vain or detrimental use [such riches] will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase [his riches]." (Prov. 13:11)

Are your professional decisions producing things for vain and/or detrimental use?

As Champions, we were designed to increase incrementally.  Greatness will not happen overnight.

  • A big break you have paid dues for can suddenly open doors that have been previously shut in your life;
  • A huge contract can come out of a small contract you served faithfully for years;
  • A ministry door can open after years of being faithful under spiritual authority, BUT NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT A SEED PREVIOUSLY PLANTED IN THE GROUND.

A seed always drives our harvest and destiny.

What is YOUR seed?  What are you putting into the ground (into your spirit, education, degree, career, marriage, leadership, and talent?)  God's set and determined plan for your life is to increase you little by little.  To not give you more than you can handle.

We were not created to be overnight sensations; a one-hit wonder that wins the lottery only to lose it in a year.  We were not designed to be the standard of ventures that always fail and live business gimmick to business gimmick, church to church, paycheck to paycheck for 10 years straight.

We were built to last.

Built by the Master Architect to earn our wealth through passion, prayer, hard work, loyalty, excellence and the faithful Word of God.

Today, what are you building?

Grave-robbers (enemies) exist to bury you with untapped potential and dreams.

Don't let it happen.

If your dream hasn't come yet, or people doubt it, check the seed.  God will cause you to flourish and satisfy you with long life as long as you are planted in the right soil.
