"THE LORD said to Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill your horn with oil; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite. For I have provided for Myself a king among his sons.  [And] Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, the Lord has not chosen any of these.  Then [he] said to Jesse, Are all your sons here? [Jesse] said, There is yet the youngest; he is tending the sheep. Samuel said to Jesse, Send for him; for we will not sit down to eat until he is here.  Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed David in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon David from that day forward." - The Greatest Love Story Ever Told

God will go through seven men to get what He has promised to you.

It's amazing how even when people you love reject you (or disregard your anointing), God still sees potential and greatness in you.

God chose and elected the least favorite--the rejected one.  But David wasn't selected because he was having a pity party or God felt sorry for him.  Verse 18 of the above passage records that when Saul wanted to find someone to fill a position next to him:

"One of the young men said, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who plays skillfully, a valiant man, a man of war, prudent in speech and eloquent, an attractive person; and the Lord is with him."

Imagine that. One of the king's young men saw David, noticed him and brought him closer in proximity to the throne (his calling.)  You see, friend, NOTHING we do, NOTHING we engage or labor in is unseen or forgotten.  But that doesn't mean it won't hurt when others don't recognize you.

In 2 Sam. 3:39, David said, "And I am this day weak, though anointed [but not crowned] king;"

You can be anointed, but not yet crowned.

·         David was crowned king years before his time;

·       He was hated by his family and employer (or predecessor)

·        Had his own army, yet he was not the king; BUT HE UNDERSTOOD THAT; he did not try to start his own rival kingdom to Saul.

He knew that only God set up and put down kings, therefore, He patiently waited for his time and refused to accept an illegitimate position.

When co-workers or laborers are threatened by you, they will try to kill or discourage the potential, gift or anointing on your life.

But there is no change in plans.

Beware of false alarms to get up and move.  The enemy wants to uproot you (prematurely) from the place you are planted in to deceive you into the loss of your inheritance.  He wants to frustrate you into sowing strife and confusion into your destiny,
because whatever you sow goes into your future.

But take heart, NO ONE can restrain, thwart or discredit the purpose of God in your life; ONLY YOU CAN.  When the disciples who walked with Jesus questioned the authority of Paul (a secular tentmaker) as an Apostle, Paul just kept doing what God called him to do: establishing churches and leaders.

God used a maker of tents to do more in the Kingdom than those that spent their entire lives preaching to the then known church.

So what if they want you fired or to quit; so what if your family doesn't believe in you; neither did Jesus' family.   There is no change in plansWork steadily.  Remain calm.  God is not upset, irritated or offended by them--YOU ARE.  When people reward you with evil, you have a command to repay them with good; to move undistracted into all God has for your life:

·         So sing anyhow

·         Play anyhow

·         Preach anyhow

·         Excel and work anyhow

·         Love (and forgive) anyhow

There is no change in plans.

Because of David's patience, verse 22 of 1 Chronicles records:  "For at that time day by day men kept coming to David to help him, until there was a great army, like the army of God."

God will send unexpected men and women to help push you into what He has called you to be.

He will send those:

·     With a perfect and sincere heart

·     With one mind

·     With weapons and instruments of war (skills)

·     Fit for active duty

·     Not of double purpose, but stable and trustworthy

·     Experienced and brave

·     With understanding of the times to know what you ought to do

·     With fame and mighty in valor (1 Chr. 12.)

Today,
God IS sending for you.  Keep doing what you do best--THERE IS NO CHANGE IN PLANS.  Stay on course.  Keep your face in the wind of the storm or what people say about you.  God will take disappointment out of your heart and replace it with joy and expectation!
