Comment on NOACA's Overall Work Program | |
What planning activities, projects and studies will NOACA undertake in fiscal year 2013? Find out in the draft Overall Work Program (OWP), which details the transportation and environmental planning work of NOACA staff beginning on July 1, 2012. The draft OWP is available for public review and comment now through 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 11. If you are a representative from a government agency, comment on the OWP through Intergovernmental Review and Consultation.

Learn About Clean Diesel and Biodiesel Fuels | |
What impacts do diesel emissions have on our air quality, and how are clean diesel and biodiesel fuels better for the environment? Join Clean Fuels Ohio for a "Lunch and Learn" event at NOACA's office on Wednesday, April 18, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Learn about the "green" vehicle technologies that can improve air quality and health, reduce dependence on imported petroleum, and support the local economy. This free informational session includes lunch. Register today!

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo EarthFest! NOACA will join 175 other exhibitors at EarthFest, with staff promoting clean transportation choices and a healthier lifestyle. The event, sponsored by the Earth Day Coalition, begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until 5:00 p.m. As an added bonus, admission to EarthFest is free if you take the RTA shuttle bus to the zoo from Cleveland's Public Square.

Save the Date for NOACA's 13th Annual Summit | |
Northeast Ohio's unusually warm weather whispers that summer is right around the corner and NOACA's annual Summit is coming soon. The 2012 Summit is scheduled for Friday, June 8, and will begin at 9:30 a.m., immediately following NOACA's monthly board meeting. The theme of this year's event is Moving Into a New Era. NEOSCC Seeks Input from Young Leaders and Innovators | |
The Northeast Ohio Sustainable Communities Consortium (NEOSCC) will be sponsoring several engagement sessions in the near future to gather ideas about what would make northeast Ohio alive and vibrant. These sessions will introduce NEOSCC and its work, and encourage dialogue about local priorities and ideas for building a vibrant community. These free events will be hosted by The Civic Commons and held in various cities across northeast Ohio. The first will take place on Tuesday, April 17 at Paolo's, One West Exchange Street in Akron, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Register and encourage colleagues and friends to join the discussion. Details about other engagement sessions will be available soon.

Reminder: NOACA Advanced Freight Planning Course | |
NOACA will be hosting a National Highway Institute Advanced Freight Planning course at the agency on April 24 and 25. The course will provide participants with the skills needed to identify, prioritize, develop and implement freight-supportive projects. It will offer techniques and strategies designed for those individuals directly involved in the implementation of transportation planning, programming and allocation of resources. The course focuses heavily on resources and solutions, and how those solutions can be applied to developing plans and programs for public and private sectors. If interested, contact NOACA Freight Planner Meredith Davis. The registration deadline is Friday, April 6.

The NOACA area encompasses the Cleveland/Lorain-Elyria metropolitan region, which includes Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties. |
