NOACA is beginning to develop its State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2013 Overall Work Program (OWP). The OWP will contain transportation and environmental studies, programs and activities to be undertaken by NOACA staff from July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013. The OWP includes ongoing programs such as:

Search is on for Next NOACA Executive Director
With help from the Waters-Oldani executive recruitment firm, NOACA is conducting a nationwide search for an executive director to replace Howard R. Maier when he retires in June 2012. Reminder: Specialized Transportation Program Applications Due Soon
If you plan to apply for federal Specialized Transportation Program funding, the deadline for submitting applications is January 31, 2012.
Many people use special wheelchair lift-equipped vehicles to get to work.
The Specialized Transportation Program offers communities and social service agencies federal funding to purchase handicapped-equipped vehicles and computer equipment for serving the transportation needs of older adults and the physically disabled. Eligible organizations can receive up to 80 percent of a vehicle's cost with a Specialized Transportation funding award.
State and Metropolitan Transportation Programming Course Offered
The National Transit Institute (NTI) /Rutgers University will be offering a State and Metropolitan Transportation Programmingcourse from March 27-29, 2012 at NOACA's office. The course will provide training on the basic concepts, components, and participants in the state and metropolitan transportation programming processes. The public is welcome to participate. Cost of the three-day course is $700 and you can earn two Continuing Education Unit credits. For more information or to register, contact Ginny Stern, NTI/Rutgers.
The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) is a regional organization of local officials responsible for carrying out transportation and environmental planning under the local direction and in accordance with state and federal mandates. The NOACA area encompasses the Cleveland/Lorain-Elyria metropolitan region, which includes Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties.
