NOACA Governing Board Adopts Transportation Improvement Program

If you want to know what roadway, bridge, transit, bicycle and enhancement projects are scheduled to be implemented over the next four years in the NOACA region, take a look at the State Fiscal Years 2012-2015 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) . The NOACA Governing Board approved the final document at its May meeting after a 45-day public review and comment period. The board also approved the Fiscal Year 2012 Overall Work Program (OWP), which outlines the programs, studies and services NOACA staff will conduct over the next fiscal year. Both the TIP and the OWP will be activated on July 1, 2011.

NOACA staff recently conducted two road safety audits for the city of Cleveland, the West 25th Street and Clark Avenue intersection and the Lee Road & Miles Avenue/South Miles Road intersection. The city can apply for ODOT safety funds to help implement audit recommendations.

Cuyahoga Arts & Culture Publishes 2010 Report to the Community

Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) encourages and supports various arts and cultural assets in the region, and also disburses grants to local arts organizations. The grant money is generated by a tax on cigarettes, approved by Cuyahoga County voters in 2006. You can read about what is being done with this public tax money in the CAC's 2010 Report to the Community, available as an online flip book (you must have Adobe Flash to view the book).

The Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) is a regional organization of local officials responsible for carrying out transportation and environmental planning under the local direction and in accordance with state and federal mandates. The NOACA area encompasses the Cleveland/Lorain-Elyria metropolitan region, which includes Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina counties.
