Advance Directive for Health Care

One of the essential estate planning documents is the Advance Directive for Health Care (ADHC). An Advance Directive is a written instruction that states your health care wishes should you become incapacitated or cannot express your wishes.

Advance Directives reduce the burden on family members determining medical treatment options if you are unable to make decisions yourself.

While it is important to work with professionals for your overall estate plan, the Alabama State Bar Association has a free downloadable planning brochure on their site  here.
