WKWIB Adopts New Training Clusters
|
The West KY Workforce Investment Board has adopted a new list of High Demand Occupations for 2012-2013. It is organized in industry clusters based upon growth sectors in the 17-county region. The sectors were identified through a comprehensive strategic planning process funded with Regional Innovation Grants by the US Department of Labor. Individuals seeking approval for training utilizing Workforce Investment Act funds should be pursuing a major that will lead toward self-sufficient employment within one of the identified target sectors.

On July 1st, the Child Care Resource & Referral Agency evolved to become Child Care Aware, following changes at the federal and state level. The PADD will continue assisting child care providers with their pursuit to meet state licensing requirements.

Draft 2013 Clean Water State Revolving Fund Intended Use Plan Available for Public Comment

The Draft 2013 CWSRF IUP including the project priority list will be available for public review and comment from July 5, 2012 through August 3, 2012. This public notice, posted on the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority website at kia.ky.gov and on the Division of Water website at water.ky.gov.

KY Broadband Survey Results Released
|
The Commonwealth Office of Broadband Outreach and Development (OBOD) and the Kentucky Council of Area Development Districts (KCADD) announce the results of a statewide public survey asking Kentuckians about their broadband access and use patterns. The reports are based on data collected from February through April 2012 across Kentucky. More than 2,000 businesses/organizations and 4,000 households contributed to the Kentucky broadband benchmarking effort.
