PADD Public Meetings for
January 2012
The PADD will make
every reasonable accommodation to assist qualified disabled persons in accessing available services or in attending agency activities.
If you have a specific accommodation need, we encourage you to contact us at least one week in advance of the meeting, so that suitable arrangements can be considered for the delivery of the service or attendance requirement prior to the activity.

Celebrating A Lifetime of Service
to the PADD Board of Directors |
Senator Ken Winters (far left) and Representative Fred Nesler (far right) join in recognizing the Lifetime Service of (from left) Mr. Joe Bolin of Calloway County, Mr. Buddy Smith of McCracken County, and Judge Executive Mike Miller of Marshall County. Presenting the members with the honor is PADD Chairman Larry Elkins, Judge Executive of Calloway County.
The PADD Lifetime Service Award was created to acknowledge individuals who have served more than 30 years on the PADD Board of Directors. At the December 2011 meeting of the Board, three members were honored. Mr. Joe Bolin of Calloway County, Judge Executive Mike Miller of Marshall County, and Mr. Buddy Smith of McCracken County are the inaugural recipients of the Award.

Senator Ken Winters and Representative Fred Nesler were the featured speakers at the December meeting of the PADD Board of Directors. With tough budget decisions, pension reform, and casino gambling at stake, both said that the 2012 General Assembly was going to be difficult, but their commitment to the residents of Kentucky remains strong. Water Management Council Submits
2012 Water & Wastewater Regional Rankings |
Over the last couple of months, the Purchase Area Water Management Council has been developing a ranking process that will rank water and waste water project regionally. On December 1st, the Council held their quarterly meeting to review and approve the results of the newly established ranking process, click here.

Family Caregiver Programs Now Offering
Caregiver Support Groups |
To assist grandparents with the process of caring for their grandchildren, the Kentucky Family Caregiver Program recently implemented monthly support groups at the Mayfield-Graves County Senior Citizen Center and the Murray-Calloway County Senior Citizen Center. Free to anyone wishing to attend, the support groups have brought to light some of the real life difficulties grandparents face while raising children in today's society.
