CFSB Receives 2011 Business Partnership Award
from KY Dept for Aging & Independent Living
 

Community Financial Services Bank (CFSB) has been awarded the 2011 Aging Network Business Partnership Award from the Kentucky Dept. for Aging and Independent Living.  Jennie Bowlin, Director of the Marshall County Senior Center, nominated CFSB for the award which recognizes the positive impact the bank has had on the quality of life for older adults through their support of the Marshall County Senior Center.  CFSB has been an active business partner of the Center, helping with fundraising efforts and donating a vehicle to the nutrition program for home meal delivery.

 

Ms. Lee King, chair of the PADD Aging Committee, presented the award during the October meeting of the PADD Board of Directors, held Monday, October 17th in Mayfield.  Accepting the award was Mrs. Betsy Flynn, President of CFSBAlso accepting the award was Marshall County Judge Executive Mike Miller and Jennie Bowlin, Director of the Marshall County Senior Citizens Center.
Medicare Part D Open Enrollment
Each year, individuals with Medicare have the opportunity to explore choices and select health and drug plans that work best for them. Open enrollment for Medicare Part D has begun.  Open Enrollment beganon October 15th and will end on December 7th.  Members will receive their 2012 materials and membership cards before the new coverage starts on January 1st.  For more information about Medicare Part D, please email Emily Clime, PADD State Health Assistance Program (SHIP) Coordinator or call her at (270) 247-7171.
Groups Receive Section 5310 Assistance to Buy Vehicles to Better Serve their Clients

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced the Section 5310 grant awards for FY2012. Two area agencies have been selected to receive funding, which will assist them in purchasing vans to be used while transporting their clients.  Four Rivers Behavioral Health will receive funds to purchase a 16-passenger van with wheel chair lift for their Illness Management and Recovery Center in Mayfield.  Easter Seals West Kentucky will receive funds to purchase a 15 passenger van.

 

Since 1974 and the formation of the Regional Transportation Committee, PADD has been assisting local agencies pursue funding through the Section 5310 Specialized Transportation Program. Congratulations to both agencies on this year's award.

Regional Transportation Committee Updates
FY2012 Goals and Objectives
