Happy Easter!

 

Wow, will spring ever get here...it's still snowing almost daily here in Montana. But tonight I am boarding a plane for Namibia, Africa, so I'm leaving the snow behind and getting inspired by new experiences and animal encounters!

 

There's been a few exciting developments in my wildlife art world. I was chosen by the Montana and National Wildlife Federations to design a painting to raise money for the re-introduction and management of wild bison in the west. The prints and posters are available, and I hope they will raise some funds to explore this possibility. Montana Matters website

 

 

 

I've also been exploring other, slightly different subjects for my pieces...of course, my first attempt was this one of my dog Bentley! I hope to appeal to dog and horse lovers and help them realize their dream of a personal portrait of their favorite pet. My other subjects have been a bit more landscape in nature, featuring some lovely habitat, with the subject a bit smaller within the scene.

 

 

 

And my biggest new project, soon to be started, will be a huge dioramic mural in a gentleman's home, featuring every habitat Africa has to offer on the big walls in his trophy room. That will certainly be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to putting my skills to the test! Look for a few shots of the completed walls in future newsletters.

 

 

 

Of course I'm busily preparing for my summer shows, which are both here in Hamilton, MT...I hope to see some of you visit!
