Goldman Sachs Event
|
Goldman Sachs is making a special visit to QUEST to talk about technology in their business. The event is titled "Criticality of Technology for Goldman Sachs", and will explain how technology is used and how important it is to our businesses, from low latency trading to client asset management.
All majors are welcome to attend, although Goldman Sachs is looking specifically at students with an interest in working in technology. Goldman Sachs is looking for summer and full-time hires, so bring along a resume if you are interested.

After the rotation, students will secure a permanent, non-rotating role in one of the businesses or corporate areas that complements your newly built core business skill set. Speak at TEDxAshokaU

Ashoka U, the largest association of social entrepreneurs in the world, is hosting an independently organized TED event on the evening of February 10, 2012. "TEDxAshokaU" will feature leaders discussing the topic of "Disruptive Innovation in Higher Education".
Brought to you exclusively through the UMD's Center for Social Value Creation's partnership, as an Ashoka U Changemaker Campus students and faculty / staff are invited to share their ideas on positive social impact in a university setting and apply as a "wildcard" speaker for this event.

Bright Idea Challenge

The Bright Idea Challenge is looking for new or early-stage, innovative social venture proposals that addresses DC-specific social issues.
Hosted by the DC Social Innovation Project, the Bright Idea Challenge will accept both non-profit or for-profit proposals. The top two ventures will share a prize package of more than $50,000 in funding, services, and resources.
The deadline to apply is October 21, 2011.
