Hello, QUESTers!
I am very excited to be joining QUEST for the 2011-2012 school year. Since joining the QUEST Team (Dr. Bailey, Dr. Herrmann, Nicole, Melanie, and Kylie) in July, I've been busy learning about the great things we do in this program and I cannot wait for the semester to begin. I am especially looking forward to meeting our amazing QUEST students later this week at orientation and next Wednesday when classes begin.
My primary role in the office will be to work on our communications efforts. I welcome your feedback as I grow into this new position. Also, please feel free to stop by the QUEST GA office (3336 VMH) and introduce yourself the next time you're in the neighborhood. I have a feeling we have a great year ahead and I'm really looking forward to being a part of it!
Best,
Kathryn Weiland

QUEST Alumni Happy Hour in Washington, DC
Article by Joel Liebman (Q14)
In the last issue of QUESTPress we heard from Yana Jmourko, co-communications lead for the QUEST Alumni Board (QAB) Alumni Focus Team, who mentioned the group's plans to establish regular events in different areas where QUEST alumni reside to provide opportunities for QUEST alumni to get together. On August 11, the group hosted what is expected to be the first of several events to do just that - and have a drink, too! That evening, QUEST alumni came out for happy hour and an evening of mingling and merriment at Rocket Bar in Washington, DC...Read More

SmithPeers: Mentor Program Established by QUEST Alums
Article By Chris Coraggio & Lucy Qian (Q16)
The idea for some sort of formalized peer mentoring program was one that we both had thought of individually, and for different reasons. We ultimately merged together in the middle of last spring (yes, spring semester senior year) because QUEST had taught us that two heads are always better than one, and that teamwork, collaboration, and a multi-disciplinary approach is how it's done. Having worked together in the past through QUEST, we knew we could tolerate each other for half a semester...Read More

QUEST Alumni Board: Student Focus Team
Article by Brian Bender (Q5)
As we approach the ninth month of the QUEST Alumni Board ("QAB") it appears that we are well on our way to creating a significant and impactful addition to the QUEST community. In the last QUESTPress from June, the QUEST community learned about the Alumni Focus Team ("AFT"). It is my turn to discuss the Student Focus Team ("SFT"). The SFT Mission is to: "Connect current QUEST students with QUEST alumni using educational, extracurricular and formal/informal events and programs."...Read More
