Catholic Heart Work Camp (CHWC)
By Andi Heither
A few weeks ago I was getting my haircut. Just as always, the hairstylist wanted to know all about my plans for the summer. I told her about how I was pumped up to get to work in 100 degree, humid Maryland weather. I was going to sleep on a classroom floor. I was going to get up at 6:15 eastern time, go to Mass every day, wait in line for cold showers, and enjoy it. I shared with her about the 24 hour, straight through the night, bus trip. I looked in the mirror. Her eyes looked back with one message tattooed across her face. Are you insane?

Spotlight on Maggie Stack
New Parish Council Member
By Maggie Stack, Parish Council Member
My name is Maggie Stack and I am one of the newest members of the Parish Council at the Church of St. Michael. My husband, Brandon, and I celebrated our 7th anniversary last month. We stay busy with our three beautiful children. Owen, 5, will attend kindergarten at St. Michael's this fall. Mallory, 4, and Wyatt, 3, fill their days at Kids Count Day Care and Learning Center in Prior Lake. Our nights and weekends are balanced with soccer, hockey, gymnastics and T-ball. My days are spent at IWCO Direct, a direct marketing service provider, in Chanhassen. Brandon works in Quality at Boston Scientific. It's a wonderful life!

First Armed Forces Day
Motorcycle Run
by Denise Kadlrik
The first annual Armed Forces Day Motorcycle Run left from the Dan Patch American Legion in Savage just after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday July 9, 2011. We started with an invocation given by Deacon Dick Roy from the Church of St. Michael. In a matter of seconds after that we were given the okay to fire up our bikes. The Savage Fire department led us to the edge of town. Thanks to the additional help from the Prior Lake and Jordan Police departments we got through the communities and out into the country quickly and as one.
