Family Traditions Teach Children the "Real Reason for the Season"
Last year my wife and I had an "uh-oh" moment during the Christmas season. In the middle of our third Christmas celebration our two oldest kids starting talking about all the toys they had. It was the moment we realized our kids were a little spoiled.
Truth be told, prior to that moment, we hadn't given it much thought. Earlier in December we welcomed our fourth child into the family so Christmas seemed extra special. Still, my wife and I limited each child to one toy and a pair of pajamas. We also knew that Santa would bring each of them something, but in total that didn't seem so bad. What we failed to realize is that my mom and five siblings, and my wife's parents and three siblings would be buying our kids toys. Parish Trustee Reflects on Experience in Church History & Catechism Studies
 The study of the history of the Catholic Church began two thousand years ago and continues today. Our St. Michael Adult Faith Formation ministry has provided me the opportunity to participate in two offerings this season. The first is "a rich and thought provoking study" of the history of the Catholic Church. "The Catholic Church: A History" is a series of thirty-six lectures on DVD, given by Professor William R.
