NEW HEALTH INSURANCE CHANGE A HUGE SUCCESS

We want to say a BIG thank you to all of the Sirius contract employees for the GREAT participation in the new health insurance program. The insurance was effective August 1, 2011. If you missed out then you will have a new opportunity to enroll on August 1, 2012.

TIPS FOR TRANSITIONING TO A NEW HEALTH POLICY:

  1. Call or check online to be sure your doctor or dentist is on the provider list BEFORE you go on your appointment, this could be a COSTLY mistake if you don't do this.
  2. Be sure to tell your doctor or dentist when you go in for your appointment that your insurance has changed up front so that they can record all of your new information for filing.
  3. If you were on our policy before the switch and want the amount you have paid into your deductible to rollover then you need to contact BCBS and get a summary of your cost to send in to United.
  4. Be sure to go onto myuhc.com and register and check your information to be sure it was entered correctly.
  5.  If you have any questions about coverage please contact customer service at 1-866-633-2446.
  6.  Make sure you check with your pharmacy on any prescription refills to verify any co-pay changes, etc.

SIRIUS CELEBRATES OUR CONTRACT EMPLOYEES IN SEPTEMBER

National Staffing Employee
Two million temporary and contract employees work through American staffing firms every day. National Staffing Employee Week honors the contributions of the stars of the U.S. work force. America's temporary and contract employees will celebrate during the week of September 12-18, 2011. Staffing firms from around the nation plan festivities to recognize their hard-working temporary and contract stars. The focus is squarely where it should be - on the millions of skilled and talented workers placed on assignment every day. "These employees have carried more than their share of the country's emergence from the recent recession, and they play a critical and strategic role both in the industry and in the economy as a whole," comments Eric Gregg of Inavero, an ASA partner.
SIRIUS TECHNICAL SERVICES WILL BE HONORING THEIR CONTRACT EMPLOYEES ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2011.

TIPS FROM YOUR RECRUITERS

Some Do's And Don'ts When Speaking to Your Recruiter:

More companies are using staffing agencies/recruiters to play the middle man. Sourcing, arbitration, screening ... more and more you're going to find that recruiters are your foot hole into a lot of networks, and can be a job seekers best friend. So what should you know about working and talking with recruiters? Here's a few simple Do's and Don'ts for when recruiters are knocking at your door:

-DO utilize the internet. Get it out there where recruiters can find it. Make sure it has all the important and pertinent keywords surrounding your career/field. Make your resume and contact info as visible as possible if you want people to find you, and if you're job hunting, you definitely do.

-DO NOT misrepresent yourself. Recruiters want to find the best fit for the candidate and the company. Give them the tools and facts that will help them find the best fit for you.

-DO ask questions. You know what you want/prefer out of a job and workplace. "How big is the company?" "What is the work atmosphere like?" "What would my role be?" "Who would I report to?" If it's important to you, make sure you know. Again, it's all about finding the perfect fit ... plus, being proactive makes you stand out.

-DO NOT apply for the opportunity outside of the recruiter. A recruiters job is to represent you and give you exposure, if you work around them, you're up against a larger pool with no one in your corner.

-DO tailor your resume. Get a list of the requirements and how the company operates from the recruiter. Then do a little homework ... look at the company's website. Make certain that if you have experience that lends itself to the position and company, that you emphasize that on your resume. Ask your recruiter how you should verbalize it .. they will have pointers.

-DO NOT be nonresponsive to your recruiter. If you're remotely interested, keep pursuing it until you hear negative feedback, or discover you don't want the position. If you DO want it and you're not responsive then you may miss out.

Create a Foundation for Success

Increase your chances for success by including a plan for each of the following:

Mind Management - Take charge of your thinking. Negative thinking is like an anchor when you are trying to move forward into new territory. Write out positive, confident beliefs and thoughts that you will entertain for your success, and read them frequently.

Time Management - Schedule your time for effectiveness, and be accountable to the actions you have planned. Don't overcommit and curb your time wasters. Use a calendar!

Emotion Management - What helps you get back on track when you experience disappointment, discouragement, or doubt? Set up a support system of friends, peers, service providers, and a good self care program so that you bounce back quickly. Be sure to include fun and humor as part of the process in reaching your goals.

Environment management - How will you handle all the distractions? The phone calls, e-mail, noise, too many ideas in your own mind? It pays to address each potential distraction with concrete action. For example, if you find that responding to e-mail is a time thief and reduces your productivity, select a reasonable amount of time to respond to e-mail, schedule it, and stick to it!

Gremlin management - Gremlins are everything else within your own make up, the patterns and behaviors that get in the way of your success. Procrastination is one of the most familiar to all of us. With mindfulness and conscious attention to your thinking and actions, you can change old habits. If you need help making a change, try coaching. Don't let anything stop you!
