| Dynamic Duo
|
 | | Jo Lynn Moore and Terra McCloud |
The "Dynamic Duo Award" is a monthly award given by the Sirius owners to the duo team that brought in the most "creative and profitable" new business opportunity for the month! A huge congrats goes out to Terra McCloud, National Accounts Manager and Jolynn Moore, Contract Coordinator, for their mighty efforts during the month of November! Terra negotiated a new contract with one of her nuclear accounts in Arkansas, and then interviewed and hired 24 new employees within a 2 week time-frame! Wow! Jolynn was her right hand (wo)man in turning out 24 new employee contracts in record time! THANK YOU LADIES!

Proud daddy is a Recruiter at Sirius and the whole office agrees that Baby Meek is already favoring his/her daddy! Baby Meek should make their debut appearance sometime around the middle of June. We love our SIRIUS babies!

Tis the Season to ask "What am I tolerating??"
|
Every December, one of the first things I do is assess my goals from the past year. Where did I stay on track? Where did I exceed my goals? And, where did I fall short? It's critical to evaluate why you netted the results you did. Below is one quick tip that I share with my clients to help them get back in the game and to start living the life they deserve.
Alleviate Your Tolerations:
What have you been tolerating this year that you need to clear out in order to free up space for next year? Unfortunate but true, most people tolerate situations or individuals in their lives that prevent them from attracting the results they desire. These tolerations can occur both professionally and personally. Some good examples include, clients not paying on time, a toxic relationship that just sucks the energy right out of you, an under-performing team member or simply organizing your home, office, closets, etc. Once you identify your tolerations, the next step is to write an action plan for how you will rid yourself of these roadblocks. Putting it in writing ensures you stick to it and avoid excuses! Don't wait....2011 is upon us....make it your best!!

A "celebration of life" memorial service was held for Jarrod Bush, son of Susie and Keith Bush, on Wednesday, December 15 in Saraland, AL. Jarrod, who fought an aggressive battle against AML (leukemia) now rests in peace without pain, in the comfort of our Lord. Jarrod donated his body to science in the hopes of ending this terrible disease, and asked that if any donations were made in his honor that they be sent to:
ACS Memorial Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Ave. Nashville, TN 37203 or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 2854 Old Shell Rd., Mobile Al 36607-2818 IN HONOR OF JARROD BUSH

   | December Employee of the Month |
 | | Robby Adams |
Sirius would like to recognize Robby Adams as our Contract Employee of the Month! Robby has been working with Sirius since the summer of 2007 and is one of those employees you would like to make a mold of and duplicate! Not only is Robby an outstanding marine designer with killer Shipconstructor skills, but he's also an easy going guy who never has a complaint. Robby, you are so appreciated and thank you for your fine representation of Sirius! |

Sirius offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 23 and Friday, Dec. 24 for the Christmas holidays. Thank you!
Open enrollment for 401k and/or any changes to contributions will begin January 1, so please print the application online and submit before Jan. 1st. If you met your 401K maximum withholdings during the 2010 year, your deductions will automatically resume in January.
Open enrollment for Guardian supplemental insurances will begin January 1, 2011 (rather than February). If interested, please download an enrollment form from the Sirius website: www.siriustechnical.com
We are getting close to tax season for W2's so if anyone has had an address change or name change recently, now is the time to make sure we have your updated information.
Let Your Voice be Heard!
Currently Sirius offers single and family BCBS insurance coverage though our cafeteria plan of benefits. In the past, we have considered policies that included single plus one, but we did not have enough interested participants to change this. We would like to re-visit this option again just to make sure we are offering the most competitive package for the needs of our employees (and to give those who are not participating a chance to voice their interest.) If you would be interested in having single, single plus one, and family, please click the YES vote below. If you do not need the single plus one option, please vote NO.
(Note: If more are in favor for adding the single plus one, it will ultimately increase the family coverage premiums.)

Recruiter Tips
| |
This month's Recruiter Tip comes from an abbreviated article by Michael R. Neece, CEO of Interview Mastery, www.interviewmastery.com which highlights phone interviewing.
"Job hunting starts at the phone interview. To get the job, you need to present yourself well over the phone - say the right things, mind your tone, and be confident overall. To see how you can do this, read this article so you can land a job". Phone interviews are frequently used by companies to save time by pre-qualifying your interest and expertise. The following are some recommendations to ensure your next phone interview is successful for you. Isolate Yourself Phone interviews place you at a disadvantage because you only have one tool of communication, your voice. The interviewer's impression of you is shaped by all the sounds coming through the phone. Insulate yourself from distractions and background noises. Do not have your phone interview when you are surrounded by a lot of noise like an outdoor café at a busy intersection. If the call is on your cell phone make sure the caller can hear you clearly. When the phone interviewer first contacts you, make sure it is comfortable for you to talk on the phone for at least 20 minutes. If it's not convenient, recommend scheduling another time for the call. Schedule the Phone Interview If you cannot speak comfortably when the first call arrives, ask the interviewer if you could schedule a specific time for the phone interview. Be sure to define who will call who. It is recommended that you offer to call the company. This ensures you are fully prepared and in a situation where you can speak without interruptions. Schedule the phone interview just like you would any face-to-face interview. Stand Up During the call standup, walk around and smile. All these things make a big difference in the projection and quality of your voice. What's Next At the conclusion, ask the interviewer about next steps and timing of their hiring process. Get Face-to-Face If you are interested, ask for a face-to-face interview. Remember that your objective (during the phone interview) is to secure a face-to-face interview. You will be most effective discussing your background and assessing the company in a face-to-face meeting.
