CRA To Launch Innovative Business Awareness & Promotional Campaign
The Sebring Community Redevelopment love DT Agency (CRA) will launch its Downtown Sebring Business Awareness & Promotional Campaign in October 2012.  The goal of the year-long campaign is to innovatively market and promote the Downtown Sebring constituents with the CRA District to visitors and residents increasing awareness of the uniqueness of the Downtown Sebring businesses that will result in positive economic growth.

The main strategies are:
1) Develop a theme/brand that will promote the Downtown core as a unique and sociable city, which will enhance, strengthen and establish new business opportunities.
2) Create a monthly campaign theme recognizing certain categories of business, existing monthly Downtown events and areas of opportunity.  Merchants can create monthly specials, discounts or promotions that coincide with the themes and events can be designed to also coincide with the theme of the month.

The year-long campaign theme/brand is "I Love Downtown Sebring."  As Sebring celebrates its Centennial, we want to hear from residents, visitors and fans what they love about Downtown Sebring.  It's a community-based, CRA-funded and coordinated project celebrating the cultural, traditional, historical and unique characteristics of Downtown Sebring.  Fans can provide feedback on Downtown Sebring's Facebook Fan Page.  Monthly themes for the first six months of the campaign have been established:
  • October - Celebrate the Centennial
  • November - Savor the Flavor
  • December - Shop, Wrap & Roll
  • January - Flying High Health & Wellness
  • February - Art, Heart & Soul
  • March - The Need for Speed
The CRA will provide an informative presentation about the campaign at its next "What's Up Downtown?" meeting on July 31 at 5:30 PM at the Highlands County Convention Center.  For more information, visit www.DowntownSebring.org or call the CRA office at (863) 471-5104.

Fifteen New Businesses Locate in Downtown Sebring

opp knocking The Sebring Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is successfully bringing new businesses into the Downtown Sebring area.  Since 2010, 15 new businesses have opened in downtown.  Only four businesses did not re-new their licenses during that time, and 35 renewed and remain in downtown.

In the past two years, through the CRA's Downtown Sebring Business Recruitment and Retention Committee, business incentive programs have been developed including a Restaurant Incentive Program and a open sign Downtown Advantage Program making funds available for qualified new businesses locating or re-locating into the CRA District, which encompasses a total of 650 acres.  In addition, a Business Recruitment Packet and a Business Recruitment Brochure have been developed and are being distributed.  The CRA hosted a Commercial Caravan taking local realtors to see available Downtown Sebring space for sale and lease.

"We are aggressively marketing the downtown district and are pleased to see the positive results to date," said Robin Hinote, CRA Acting Executive Director.  "Although we still have empty spaces to fill with restaurants, retail and professional space, we are on our way to creating the vibrant downtown outlined in our Redevelopment Plan."

Anyone interested in learning more about the CRA's financial incentives are encouraged to contact the CRA office at (863) 471-5104. For more information, visit www.DowntownSebring.org.
