The New Vision News
Happy Fall!

We have had an amazing start to this new year of dance.  The studio is abuzz with the excitement of a new school year, new dance classes, and now The Grinch!  There was an outstanding turnout for our auditions, and our Holiday Production has hit a new record of participants.  We really appreciate everyone for their support, and for joining us this year for your dance classes.

As the year gets underway, we want you to know we always have time to answer questions, and want to make sure your experience at New Vision is above and beyond your expectations. You can call the front office at 503.693.6166 and someone will get back to you as soon as possible, or email Miss Bradian to get your questions answered.  We do our best to keep you informed, and ask that you read through the monthly newsletters, emails, and handouts given in class.  We also try and post copies of our most information on the various bulletin boards throughout the studio, and on our website (www.newvisiondance.com).  Hopefully you feel well-informed and prepared for every aspect of your dancer's experience at New Vision.

Thank you again for letting us be a part of your dancer's training!

Sincerely,
Heather, Lynn and Bradian
2012 Showcase Dates!

Showcase Week will be June 16th - June 23rd

At the end of each dance year, we celebrate the accomplishments of our dancers with a professionally presented Spring Showcase.  This is a wonderful event for family, friends, and students; during which our primary goal is to have each dancer receive the best on-stage experience possible.  Everyone loves

Tutu girl

this meaningful event as a celebratory end to their year of hard-work and classes.  The Showcase is not a mandatory part of our curriculum, yet participation is highly recommended because of the benefits to each students' dance education a performance provides.

If you would like to participate in this wonderful show, please mark June 16th-June 23rd off on your calendar.  The Showcase schedules are tentative until later in the year, so it is important you don't plan any camps or vacations that week in case your dancer is needed on stage!  Participation in the dress rehearsal will be mandatory in order to participate in the shows, so before you commit, please ensure you will be able to attend any scheduled events during the week of June 16th-23rd.  Read on below to find out how to get a costume ordered for your dancer!

Tumble Show!

At New Vision Dance Center, we like to give our Tumble students individual notice by having a special parent viewing day just for them.  This is a time during their last class of the year, for you to come to the studio and see the Tumblers show-off all of their skills!  You are not required to purchase an additional outfit, nor will you have additional fees or tickets to purchase; more information will follow!

Showcase Costumes!

Showcase Costume Commitment Forms will soon be showing up in your email inbox!  You will receive a commitment form for each child you have enrolled at New Vision, and each form should have all the classes they are currently registered for listed on them.  Once you receive the form, please complete the following:
  1. Make sure all of the information and Pretty in Pinkclasses listed are correct!
  2. Circle "YES" next to the classes you want us to order a costume for, and "NO" next to any classes who's Showcase dance you don't want to participate in.
  3. Choose which tight size you think will best fit your dancer in June (accounting for growth)!
  4. Turn in your Showcase Costume Commitment Form before Saturday, October 29th!
It is extremely important to get your Showcase Costume Commitment Form turned in on time.  Forms turned in after November 17th will be considered "Late Order Costumes" and thus will have additional fees.  There have been difficulties in the past getting Late Order Costumes here in time for the Showcase, so if your dancer wants to participate, get those forms in early!

Showcase Costume Fees are based on the Showcase Costume Commitment Forms received for each dancer.  On November 1st your costume fee of $75.00 per
Hear me Roarcostume will be charged to your account.  If you sign up for multiple costumes, your charges will be split in half and charged to your account on November 1st and December 1st.  Costume fees include the cost of the costume, a new pair of tights, an individual headpiece, a NVDC carrying bag, all alterations necessary, props (if used), and administration (ordering, shipping, processing).  Costume ordering must be done early, and once the order is placed it cannot be canceled (nor can we add to it without increased cost), thus all costume fees are non-refundable.  For an overview of additional Showcase costs, please read through the General Information on our website.  If you have questions regarding the Showcase Costume Commitment Form, please email Miss Bradian, or stop by the Front Desk.

Payment Policies
:
As you have already noticed, in our effort to become more environmentally friendly, we send out your monthly bills via email.  There may still be certain items throughout the year that are mailed (though we will do our best to warn you they are coming), so please be sure to watch your mailboxes!  We will email bills between the 10th and 15th of each month, and payments are due before the 1st.  A $20.00 late fee will be posted to overdue accounts.

New Vision Dance Center does not accept checks.  We realize registrations are often sent in with checks, but ask you to utilize other payment options such as cash, Visa, Mastercard, and debit cards for your monthly tuition and extra items purchased.  Not accepting checks is a decision made in order to avoid returned items and the resulting costs.  As a convenience to our customers, we offer an Auto Payment system.  Please note you have to re-enroll in this system each year, so if you didn't fill out a new Auto Pay form, we do not have you currently enrolled. Stop by the front office to check on your Auto Pay enrollment, or if you are interested in signing up.

Changing Classes:
Please check with the office and your child's instructor prior to switching classes for availability and level.  You are responsible for notifying the office of any changes in enrollment, including adding, dropping or switching classes.  All changes will be effective at the time of notification.  If you decide to drop a class, please fill out a change form before the first of the month in order to avoid being charged, tuition is non-refundable, so a failure to notify us can result in charges for the proceeding month.

Make-up Classes:
If your dancer misses a class, please take advantage of our make-up policy and find a class that fits within your schedule to use as a make-up.  Make-ups must be done within the session the class was missed, however, if you drop a class you forfeit your make-ups.  There is no pro-rating for missed classes, but these are a great time to experience a new teacher or style.  Questions regarding make-up classes can be handled by the front desk.
