Behind the Scenes!
Aztec International Miniatures Show 2012

Greetings!

Ever wonder who decides which minis make it into the Hobby Builders Supply catalog and miniatures.com? Well, today is your lucky day! I asked our merchandiser Sue to share a thought or two about the 2012 Aztec International Miniatures Show (this one is not open to the public) we just returned from, and she happily obliged! Take it away, Sue ...

Hi! As Ernie mentioned, we just got back from the Aztec Show in Aurora, Ohio, and I have to tell you my mind is spinning! Each show has its own energy, and I can usually tell what a show is going to be like within a few minutes of walking in.

This time, that energy was instantaneous and palpable. This was going to be a fun and productive trip!

Immediately upon entering, someone ran over to me, "Sue, you've got to go see what the vendor in booth T32 has!" Just as I was headed in that direction, Steve from Houseworks Ltd. said, "Hey! Deanna said to give you this sample and for you to stop by and see her." And then, just as I had tucked that little gem into my bag and made myself a note, another colleague caught me with, "There's a new vendor right next to me with a product she would love to show to you. Stop by!"

It was a whirlwind couple of days, and I've come back with plans for some exciting new products, including a host of festive holiday items. You will be seeing all of it very soon! I also had the opportunity to meet some new suppliers with products unlike anything we have offered before. I can't wait to see what you think about them!

As always, we are committed to bringing you the best mini values for your dollar, so I am continually on the lookout for intriguing products that we can offer at great prices. I know I found some at this show. As Ernie often says, please send us your ideas for any miniatures you would like to see us carry-I really do keep a running "shopping list" of those suggestions and take them to every show!

Well, there you have it, folks! Thanks, Sue, for taking a few minutes to introduce yourself and tell us a little about what you do at HBS/miniatures.com. I think our customers enjoy learning a bit more about what goes on behind the mini scenes, so be on the lookout for more employee spotlights!

Until next time,

Ernie Collier
