from the Public LIbrary of New London

Happy New Year to all our patrons
who made this such a dynamic year at the library!

Things we want to remember:

**  The library and the schools collaborated for the best summer reading program ever.  Children's circulation increased 53% in the summer of 2011 over the summer before.

**  Nearly 140,00 people visited the library last year.

**  And if you missed the wonderful column in The New London Day last week supporting our library, be sure to read it here:

What we are looking forward to in 2012:

**  Beginning January 8,  the library is opening on Sundays from
1-4 pm, thanks to a grant from  the James P. and Mary E. Shea Perpetual Trust.

**  Early in the year the Foundation Center on-line data bases will be available from computers in the library - with access to information about more than 100,000 granting institutions across the country.  This will be a great asset to non-profit groups in the area. Watch for details!

** Coming soon - library cards that can be attached to your key chain. No more hunting for your card to borrow the latest book or DVD.
