What if we turned prayer "on its ear"?
|
What would it look like to regard prayer as "beyond words," to move from communication to communion?
What would it look like to regard prayer as less about us getting God's attention and more about God getting our attention?
What would it look like to regard prayer as not born of our circumstance, but our circumstance as born of our prayer?
What would it look like to regard prayer less in terms of presents and more in terms of Presence?
What would it look like to assume God answers our cries with one of two answers? No, not with either yes or no; but with either deliverance or endurance? (1 Corinthians 10:13).
What would it look like to regard prayer as less about changing God's heart and mind and more about changing our hearts and minds?
What would it look like to regard the intercession of the Spirit (Romans 8:26-27) not as though the Spirit comes alongside of us in prayer, but as though we come alongside the Spirit in prayer?
What's the learning, or even the pushback?
