Celebrating the Week of the Young Child New York's ECAC, created in 2009, was formed to provide a dynamic and overarching framework stretching across existing agencies and programs to foster coordinated, cross-systems efforts to better serve New York's families, starting in pregnancy. The ECAC, comprised of a wide range of organizations and public and private agencies, works towards a common goal -- a viable pathway for every child to succeed.
To that end, the ECAC has identified three immediate priorities that will have maximum impact on young children, while delivering a significant return on the investment of public dollars. These are:
