October 2011
A Note From Our President

Dear Friends,

Wow, what a crazy start to the school year. Who would think we would begin the year with a rain delay? After we finally got into school, Ann Garrison and Katie McGowan did an outstanding job with the Back to School coffee and volunteer fair. I also want to thank the hospitality committee, Alexa Costanzo, Colleen Kerrigan and Michelle Stetler for the beautiful reception at Back to School Night.

Already into October, there are many events planned. Right around the corner on October 14th is our 1st Family event, Family pizza and Bingo Night. Please check out this week's Carmel Capsule for more specifics. Other near term events are listed below. Please check out the Home and School Calendar located on the Home and School website for a complete list of events. If you have any questions, please contact the committee chair for the event listed according to the website.

There have been many changes this year. Two of the most exciting changes are for the Principles Post coming home every week in the Carmel Capsule and Carmel Conversation held monthly with Ms Barry. The next one is scheduled for October 20th in the St Bernard room. If you have some free time grab a cup of coffee and stop in.

Lastly, Safe Environment reminder; If you would like to volunteer for any activity that involves the children, you MUST have all of your Safe Environment Training. Examples of these activities would be Homeroom Mom, chaperones on class trips, etc. An explanation went home last week in the Carmel Capsule and can also been found on the Home and School website. If you have any question regarding your eligibility, please contact Margie Anderson in the rectory.

May God Bless you and keep you close,

Thanks to all those who donated to our successful art supply drive for Camden's Hope Chest.  They were overwhelmed with all the items that were delivered.  Here is a note from the schools that received our donations:

I cannot thank you enough for the art supplies. There were so many of them and new and wonderful! You and your team of parents and students are always so generous. We are truly grateful for your hard work to hold this drive and to give generously to the children of Camden.

 Gratefully,
