Giving & Hospital E-News
Children's Hospital Central California Foundation
July 2012
Greetings!

There isn't a day that goes by when I'm not amazed by the outpouring of support our hospital receives from businesses, organizations, and individuals throughout Central California.

This month's newsletter is a perfect example of the many ways people give their time and resources to support our kids. The Ameys, a thankful patient family, made a significant gift to help establish Dr. Gary Magram's Neurological Research Fund and the Pediatric Neurosurgery Department Fund at Children's. A special television production presented by ABC 30 tells about the exceptional care the hospital provides to our children. Then there's Taco Bell, a proud partner of Children's that has raised over $1.5 million for the hospital through its annual Circle Campaign, Golf Tournament, and Teen Foundation grants.

Remember, every donation--no matter its size--helps Children's Hospital provide the highest levels of pediatric care to our kids.

We thank you for being so amazing.

Sincerely,

Neurosurgery Program Gets $100,000

Amey family supports neurosurgeon's work

The Children's Hospital Central California Neurosurgery Program received a $100,000 boost, with most of the funding provided by grateful parents Scott and Deborah Amey of Great Falls, Va.

The Ameys credit Dr. Gary Magram, medical director of neurosurgery at Children's, with saving their daughter's life when she suffered from life-threatening hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain) after undergoing surgery to remove a brain tumor. Today their daughter Kara is a 20-year old college student.

About the Foundation

We believe deeply in the power of philanthropy to save children's lives. When you donate to Children's, your dollar is helping to fund life-saving technology, advance clinical services, provide a safety net for children, with little or no private medical insurance, and create a healing environment that enriches the experience of our patients and their families.
