SUMMER GREETINGS!
Welcome to our new way of keeping you informed.
We are pleased to be able to offer our members and customers a new and improved method of communicating information about our programs and services. With the rising costs associated with producing a printed newsletter we have chosen to use an easier and more affordable way of reaching you, our patron. Using electronic messaging we will be able to reach a broader audience in a much more effective and timely manner.
It has always been our goal to keep our customers as current and informed as possible on the news and events happening in our department. We are confident that our e-newsletters will continue to meet that goal.

Vandalism Costs All Of Us Your help is needed.
With the summer season upon us and outdoor activities in full swing, WP&R is asking for the public's assistance in curbing incidents of vandalism this summer at Wahoo parks and recreational facilities.
Whether it's broken picnic tables (pictured right), damaged playground equipment, trashed restrooms, or grafitti, the cost to repair, clean up, and replace these items is ultimately paid by the taxpayers of Wahoo. We need your help.
If you witness any act of vandalism or belligerent behavior which could cause damage to any public property or facility, do not hesitate to contact the Wahoo Police Department at their non-emergency number...443-4155. With everyone's vigilance we can continue to enjoy quality parks and recreational facilities and eliminate vandalism. |

Thanks to all who participated. |
| Summer Group Fitness
Two classes still being offered.
Don't forget that two group fitness classes are still being offered throughout the summer months. Our early morning "Combo" class is held on M/W/F beginning at 5:30am in the Civic Center fitness room and the morning water aerobics class is at 8:30am on Tues/Thurs in the Civic Center pool.
Don't let the "busy-ness" of the summer derail your fitness goals. |
Annual Civic Center Maintenance Shutdown
Facility to be closed for one week.
The Civic Center will be closed from August 3-9 in order to perform annual maintenance and repair within the facility. All activity areas of the facility will be closed. Begun last year, the week-long shutdown allows staff to perform a number of maintanance duties including draining and painting the pool, stripping and resealing all hard surface and wood floors, painting, and performing a number of other chores that could not be done while the building was open to the public. The Civic Center will re-open on August 10th. |
