NTDO NEWS
March 31, 2010
In party politics, every year is a "critical year." But in this second year of our President's first term, the months leading up to this fall's mid-term election are especially critical. The Republican resistance to new progressive initiatives is already fierce, and it will get worse. The lies, scare tactics and inflammatory rhetoric will be unrelenting -- and their sole purpose will be to weaken the Obama presidency.
The surest way to counter those Republican efforts is to unite our energies as Democrats in preparation for the campaign battles ahead. From now until Election Day, the New Trier Dems will be offering a variety of events and social gatherings aimed at bringing our area's Democrats together. The forum on April 11 is the first of these. A good turnout will be a great start for our grassroots efforts in this critical year. Mark you calendar now.

There will be a lunchtime April Fools Day Rally at Mark Kirk's office -- Tomorrow, April 1st.
|
Mark Kirk has played April Fools tricks on his constituents for years. Tell Representative Kirk
WE WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN.
Despite 1.8 million Illinoisans lacking insurance, Representative Kirk vows to lead the charge to Repeal and Replace the Affordable Health Care Act.
Despite Illinois having 744,000 unemployed residents, Representative Kirk opposed creating much needed jobs in the HIRE Act.
Despite the near collapse of our economic system, Representative Kirk opposed the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
Does this sound like the leadership of a Moderate Republican or a Tea Party Conservative? It is time to introduce the REAL Mark Kirk to the people of Illinois.
Join the lunchtime April Fools Day Rally: Thursday, April 1st from Noon - 1:00 pm Mark Kirk's District Office 707 Skokie Blvd, Northbrook, 60062

Legislative Redistricting in Illinois is more complicated than you might think. David Hoffman will tell you how much more on April 8.
|
Last year, Governor Quinn's
Illinois Reform Commission recommended substantially reforming the
state's redistricting process. The League of Women Voters and the
Illinois Campaign for Political Reform (ICPR) responded by joining with
other reform groups to draft a proposed amendment to the Illinois
Constitution that is designed to reduce the role of politics in
deciding where the boundaries should be for state legislative
districts.
Legislative Redistricting,
Why Drawing a Line Is More Complicated than You Think
