NTDO NEWS
March 10, 2010

Dan Seals' campaign is charging ahead with two important fundraiser receptions on March 12 and March 17 (see below). This is a critical time for fundraising since how well a campaign raises funds locally affects the support given by national party organizations. The next financial reporting deadline is March 31.  So if you can make it to one, or both, of Dan's March receptions, mark you calendar now! We must stay focused on taking this Congressional seat away from the Republicans. Campaign financing is key.
Also in this week's News, a repeat call for help from the New Trier Dems' office, a chance to learn more about Illinois' budget problems from a very knowledgeable source, and an opportunity to counter the "Tea Baggers" ravings.
Mugs, chairs, shelving, letter trays... Do you have any items to donate to The NTDO office?
This is a follow up to last week's request. We did receive a coffee maker but still need many other things. Nalani McClendon, the interim office manager, has sent out a request for any office items you can spare. The better equipped the office is, the better job the NTDO can do.  Here's the basic wish list: Thermos, Ceramic Mugs, Shelving Units, Cabinets, Tables (Folding), Chairs (desk height), Letter Trays, Organizers (drawer, shelf), Storage Bins (plastic or fabric).

If you can donate any of these items, give Nalani a call Mon., Wed. or Fri. morning at 847-446-8030.

Tomorrow the "Tea Party" plans a  "Scrap the Healthcare Bill Rally" at Congresswoman Bean's office.
You can counter their rally.
On Thursday, March 11, Tea Party members will be holding a protest in front of Melissa Beans office at noon.  Health Care for American Now (HCAN)  and Organizing for America (OFA) leaders will hold a counter protest from noon until 1:00 pm.

Meet in the parking lot in front of the main entrance: 1701 E. Woodfield Road, Schaumburg, 60173.  HCAN will bring signs and a bullhorn.

Tenth Dems has put out call seeking
campaign managers and unpaid volunteers.
Recently the 10th Dems sent this message to Democrats across the district:
"Local Democratic candidates are looking to add both campaign managers and unpaid volunteers to their teams for the November 2010 elections. Pay, if any, would be modest, but for the right people, this is a great way to gain experience in campaigns and build your resume. We have great candidates with strong backgrounds and community contacts, but they need committed workers to help them win big! If you are interested, please send your resume, a brief statement about about yourself and why you would be interested in doing this kind of work to info@tenthdems.org."
About Us:
The New Trier Democratic Organization is made up of hundreds of grassroots volunteers dedicated to advancing progressive ideals through the political process. We welcome your participation.

Sincerely,
Dean T. Maragos, Committeeman New Trier Township
