 "Bringing You The Word"

Hearing from God  is No Secret

"This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it-the LORD is his name: 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."-Jeremiah 33:2-3 niv

Since our last email (God Has Something To Tell You, July 30, 2009), so many of you have responded either by email, text, a phone call or face to face. We have decided to teach a little bit more about hearing the secret things from God.

Just to recap, we discussed two women who were both diagnosed with breast cancer. One is still with us, and the other recently passed on to a better place.
The one with us, we have stated, received knowledge from God.
She placed herself in a position to hear directly from God by fasting and praying. The one who passed on, we discussed that we do not have knowledge of her relationship with God, but that she received information about her breast cancer too late.

We briefly mentioned that a relationship with God possibly played a major part in the outcome of the first young woman.

At the beginning of this newsletter, we quoted a scripture, which clearly shows us that God Himself says, that when we call He answers. He says,...'Call to me...' This is a command from God. We also see that there is a benefit in calling to God, and that benefit is '...I will answer you...'

In answering, God says that He will ...'tell you great and unsearchable things
you do not know." Jer 33:2-31.

Now, in our last discussion, we plainly stated that there are some things that
can only come from God. Here, in Jeremiah 33, God says the things He will tell us are great and unsearchable. This proves we cannot search, look for, or find out some things, except that God reveals it. These things that God reveals are important to living, long life, and a quality of life that He has already ordained for us to have. God has ordained divine health, healing, prosperity, and long life.

These are just some of what He has in store for us.

You might ask, "why are people sick; living in lack; and passing away so early?"
These are questions to be explored in such detail that we can only address a few reasons.

We know that one of the main reasons for such calamities in life is sin. Sin when it is finished, the book of James states, "there is death". Death is the end of something or the separation from something or someone. We clearly separate ourselves from God when we are not praying consistently. We further are separated when we do not wait in prayer long enough for the answer. Every prayer is a petition placed before God. And every prayer results in an answer. In fact, this is what prayer is; it is a petition. A petition requests something; it asks for something. Questions in every situation I know of, results in some type of answer. Whether we are petitioning God for His love through adoration or petitioning God for our needs; we can always expect God to provide a response.
How does one obtain an answer when petitioning God? Think about this: God has no problem in speaking to us. He says, that we, who are "his sheep will hear His voice." Why then, are we not hearing? Well, ask yourself, "What do I do immediately after I pray?" If this answer is I get up and go throughout the rest of my day, then you probably fit into the category of those who say they cannot hear from God, or that "it seems that God does not answer my prayers." We know prayers can be hindered by sin and unbelief, but even then God will still bring a response. What then, is the solution to hearing from God?

Simply, it is waiting in prayer and studying your Bible. When you pray, it is disrespectful to God to get up and leave without requiring to hear from Him. Maybe the problem is we are too busy reporting to others, and going about our daily lives while expecting God to send a band of angels to solve all of our problems.

In studying God's principles, we can learn so much. One principle we learn is that through our faith, if we believe, God will answer. But the qualifier to this principle is that we must seek Him diligently. When diligent, it means to be steadfast, unmovable. Diligence requires staying in prayer until you get the answer. This is what it means when the scripture states "the prayers of the righteous availeth much." Anyone can avail much in prayer. What you sow you reap. If you sow staying power in prayer, you will reap much "information" in prayer. If you always walk away, how do you expect to hear? To avail much, you must give much. It's a principle that will work for anyone.

One more issue needs to be fully addressed before we go on. When we pray and wait on the answer, we are to consult the Bible for the answer. The Bible is where all of the secrets and mysteries and answers to life are stored. Sure, we are to wait in prayer, but we are to seek the Bible as well. The Holy Spirit will always lead you to the Word of God for answers. The Bible is where you find confirmation to what God says through the Holy Spirit. More about this will be addressed later.

The final analysis is this: We must continue to pray and study the Word to know what to do in every situation. I leave you with the following passage from Joshua 1:8 niv

"Do not let this Book [the Bible] of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful."
