"Bringing You The Word"
Either It's Faith Or It's Not
In studying the Word of God, we have been taught:
"It is impossible to please God without faith." Hebrews 11:6
When God gives us an assignment, we are to do our very best to fulfill
that assignment. But sometimes during the midst of completing
our God-given tasks, challenges occur. When challenges come we are
apt to quit, change the plans without consulting God, or create a back-up plan.
This back-up plan simply says, "God, I do not trust you fully. Just in case
this assignment does not work out, I have a way to escape".
Simply put, we are not in faith.
"...Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 kjv
When you cannot see the outcome, God can.
Once we walk away from our God-given assignment, God will forgive us, but He will
find someone else to complete the assignment in which He has
ordained and equipped us to perform. God sees the end from the beginning.
He's already figured out the complete plan. He has assured us that in Jeremiah 29:11 kjv
when He declares, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end".
But when we quit or faint during our assignment, we can expect to suffer some consequences.
Then, what happens is that we end up in God's permissible Will, and are
clearly knocked out of His perfect Will. Anything worth doing for
God, takes sacrifice, dedication, commitment, faith, knowledge,
and His continuous unconditional love.
When we are faithful in our assignments, no matter how bad it looks
at the time, God is the One who adds the increase to perform the perfect outcome.
God promised to "never leave us nor forsake us." Hebrews 13:5 kjv
This is why we should not have a back-up plan to God's
plan. His plan will work if we obey and stay with Him every step of
the way-no matter what it looks like right now. However, just make
sure we are doing everything we are supposed to do and make
sure we are following every step of the plan and
not moving ahead of God, or too slow behind.
We must be sure we do things in His timing, and according to His Will.
There is nothing wrong with backing up the plan or the assignment that
God gives. In fact, backing it up-with faith, is like having an insurance policy,
that
when all else fails, God is on the scene to make it happen.
We can back-up our plan by seeking God through prayer, staying
steadfast in immediate obedience, and
learning what is expected of us by going directly to the Word.
Backing up our
plan could be that "Ram in the bush." Genesis 22:13 kjv
But it could also mean acquiring
new information, and being flexible
to change-when God speaks;
However, having a back-up plan may indicate that we want to bail out
of the plan altogether, especially
when it does not seem to be working in our favor.
So, therefore, we can back-up our plan,
as long we do not HAVE a back-up plan.
A Word to the Wise:
There's nothing wrong with "backing up our plan",
as long as we do not have a "back-up plan" to quit.
