What a cold beginning to our New Year. 2010 seems to be starting off as one of the colder in recent memory. Regardless of the temperature this is always a "busy" time for us as we prepare for the upcoming pool season. The office staff is preparing to start scheduling for the opening season, and the Service Techs are getting trucks and equipment ready to go. Spring will be here sooner than we think!

As a reminder we have a full staff that works year round. In the event you have a question or concern please don't hesitate to call.

Let's Make It An Easy Spring
Focus On A Trouble Free Opening

During the next few months this section of the Gallagher Newsletter will focus on helping our clients have an Easy Spring! We will be giving you pointers on the things to do now that could make Spring 2010 hassle free.

By now most pools are winterized and we eagerly await Spring. As you will recall from past winters there is very little that will need to be done to the pool over the next few months, however those few things that do need attention will be critical for a pleasant spring.

The winter of 2010 is looking like it could be one of the coldest in quite a few years for those of us in the Central Maryland area. Any precipitation seems to be delivered as a frozen variety. The temperatures have not been much above freezing for weeks, and it looks as if that is not likely to change anytime soon.

We have been receiving many phone calls from concerned clients about the frozen condition of their pool. The best rule to remember when the water on top of the cover is frozen, do NOTHING but wait for the ice to thaw. It is highly possible to do more harm than good by trying to remove the ice or adjust the cover.

When everything thaws, pump off cover to the appropriate level as soon as possible. If you have a Mesh cover and a plaster pool, check the water level under the cover to make sure it is still below the tile, and adjust as necessary.

Meet Our Staff

Ryan Hill is one of the Service Technicians at Gallagher Pools & Spas. He has been with us for 8 years. Ryan opens, closes, and maintains pools as well as performing service related repairs. Ryan is also our inground pool liner replacement specialist.

When Ryan is not working on your pool he enjoys spending time with his 2 kids; Dylan, and Jayden. When he is not spending time with his kids he likes Transformers, video games, watching the Raven's and W.W.E. Wrestling.

We are happy to have Ryan as a member of our Service team. Please say hi to him the next time you see him in your yard!
