Focus On A Trouble Free Opening
During the next few months this section of the Gallagher Newsletter will focus on helping our clients have an Easy Spring! We will be giving you pointers on the things to do now that could make Spring 2010 hassle free.
By now most pools are winterized and we eagerly await Spring. As you will recall from past winters there is very little that will need to be done to the pool over the next few months, however those few things that do need attention will be critical for a pleasant spring.
1. If you use a solid winter cover pay attention to the amount of water on top of your pool cover and pump it off as necessary. Too much water on top of your cover could cause it to fall in, and it also will contribute to water loss over the winter, due to displacement.
2. With solid covers it is also important to remove leaves as well as water. If the leaves are allowed to deteriorate on top of the cover it is likely that staining will occur from the acid produced by the degrading leaves. This acid type by-product will leach through the cover and cause stains at the water line.
3. If you use a mesh pool cover and you have a plaster pool, please make sure the water level is always below the tile line. If water is above the tile and the temperature drops below freezing, the risk of tile and coping damage increase significantly.

Meet Our Staff
Warren Ball is one of our Service Technicians. He has been with Gallagher Pools & Spas for 10 years. Warren started here as a helper and has worked his way up to Service Tech. He opens and closes pools and performs many other pool related repairs, and he is our caulking specialist.
When Warren is not servicing pools he is spending time with his family. He and his wife Amanda have three fantastic children, Mariah 10, Brayden 7, and Calvin 5. If that isn't enough to keep him busy he can be found playing softball, or cheering for the Ravens, Auburn Tigers, or Jeff Gordon! If any spare time remains you will find Warren working on the huge fishpond that he built!
