Focus On A Trouble Free Opening
During the next few months this section of the Gallagher Newsletter will focus on helping our clients have an Easy Spring! We will be giving you pointers on the things to do now that could make Spring 2010 hassle free.
Pools that are poorly winterized can present the owner with algae, chlorine demand, degraded pool surfaces, and damaged equipment in the Spring. If you have Gallagher Pools & Spas winterize your pool for you the items discussed here will be done for you, however if you close your own pool, following these steps will help you be trouble-free in the Spring.
- Make sure you have the pool water tested at Gallagher Pools & Spas. Adjust chemical balance as needed prior to closing the pool.
- Vacuum pool.
- Lower water to the correct level for your cover type.
- Add a Gallagher Pools & Spas Winter Kit, sized correctly for your pool size.
- Use a solid pool cover, if possible. Mesh covers allow sunlight and fine sediment to pass through the cover. Solid covers keep out all light and fine debris. In other words if you close the pool clean & clear you will open it clean & clear!
