November TAP Member Meeting

Spaulding Turnpike Improvements Project and Commuter Options
Pease Development Authority will host the November 17th meeting at their new office at 55 International Drive
The meeting will take place 8:00 - 9:30 a.m.
 
Seating capacity is 60 people and a large turnout is expected.  TAP respectfully asks that you limit your company representation to a few who can bring the information back to your group.

Annual TAP Breakfast  

RSVP REQUESTED

The annual TAP breakfast will be held on Tuesday, December 15th at 8:00 a.m. at Southern NH University at 231 Corporate Drive. 
 
Portsmouth Regional Hospital is sponsoring this event with a full breakfast buffet.   All attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped pair of children's pajamas and/or a book to be donated to the Pajama ProgramAt the meeting Maria Minickiello will tell us more about this wonderful organization which provides new pajamas and books to children in need.
 
Open House at Seacoast Rejuvenation Center
 
Seacoast Rejuvenation Center invites you to a special Open House event on Tuesday, November 17th at 6-8pm. BE PREPARED FOR FLU SEASON!

 Free Seminars
 
The American Red Cross Great Bay Chapter will be holding free seminars in November/December to help businesses and their employees prepare for the 2009/2010 flu season. Each 90-minute presentation will educate business managers and their employees on steps that can be taken to reduce the spread of both H1N1 and seasonal flu viruses, as well as recommended actions to maintain business continuity in the face of a flu pandemic.

Each seminar will cover:
  • The differences between seasonal flu, the H1N1 virus, and pandemic flu
  • How the influenza virus spreads
  • Protecting employees and reducing the spread of flu in the workplace
  • Business continuity planning

All seminars will be held at Southern New Hampshire University, Portsmouth Campus.
 

*There will be a toolkit with Leader's Guide, DVD and CD-Rom available for order for those participants who would like to bring the presentation back to their place of business. There is a $30 fee, and pre-orders are encouraged.

Cindy will contact the nominated person directly to talk about details and responsibilities.   Cindy will remain active on the Board for 2010 and will be available to new Board members for any guidance.
Transfer Fair
 
Great Bay Community College will host a Transfer Fair on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, from 10-2 in the library. Approximately 24 New England colleges and universities will be attending-stop by and learn how you can transfer your credits and/or prior learning! Raffles will be held throughout the event. Great Bay Community College is located at 320 Corporate Drive on the Pease Tradeport. Parking is available in the small lot at 360 Corporate Drive. The fair is free and open to all to attend.
 
Manchester Monarchs Game
 
Join TAP at the Manchester Monarchs game on Wednesday, December 2nd, as they take on the Portland Pirates.  The Monarchs are offering TAP members discounted tickets through a special offer, which can be purchased on line by clicking here.
 
If the Monarchs win on a weekday, everyone with a ticket for that game receives a free ticket to the next Winning Weekday game.  In this case, everyone would earn a free ticket to the Monarchs New Year's Eve game if they win on December 2nd.
 
The puck drops at 7:00 pm at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.  Directions can be found here.
 
 

Pease Pumpkin Carving Contest

Pease Pumpkin Carving was a lot of fun this year with all of the pumpkins displayed at Redhook Brewery on October 28th.  Judges Dave Mullen, Liz LaCava and Cindy Clark had a tough assignment deciding on the awards.

Tie for Most Creative
Redhook for their Pumpkin-Man Redhookthat dispensed beer from his bellybutton spigot and the Cinderella Coach created by Salient Surgical Tech.
