From Our Artistic Director We have had a wonderfully busy summer! We completed our two-week Summer Intensive with a great group of some of the most committed, focused girls you'd ever want to meet. They learned a lot during their time with us and demonstrated their new talents in a showcase at the end of camp. And now we're already thinking about our fall classes!
In addition to our education programming, we're also busy with lots of upcoming special events and a tour to the Midwest, as well as participating in Western Arts Alliance's conference in Seattle later this month.
With so many things in the works, we're sure to run into you somewhere. And you can always check our website for updates. Suzanne Kenney Artistic Director |

Guest Artist Nicole Pearson
|
We have a great opportunity for you to see Pendulum perform in Portland! We will be participating in the Galaxy Dance Festival to be held on Friday, August 12 in Director Park (at SW Yamhill and SW Park in downtown Portland). We will have an information table set up 10 am-8 pm, and will do a half-hour performance beginning at 6:30 pm. Hope you can stop by to say hi.
After that, we're packing our bags and heading to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL for a series of shows at the Doudna Fine Arts Center. We'll be performing there August 25-27, so if you have friends or family in the area, let them know that we're ready to put on a great show. You'll be able to see High Art a little closer to home on October 22 in Klamath Falls and on January 21, 2012 in Salem. As a special treat, Nicole Pearson, who has worked with Pendulum since 2005, will be appearing as a guest artist at the Klamath Falls show. |

Summer Intensive 2011

This experience is one I would not change for anything. You leave the studio with many new friends, self confidence, new strength and skills, and a whole new perspective on life. If you allow it to, Pendulum can change your life for the better in many ways.

Goy Suvan teaching a class in Japan
|
This year we are welcoming some terrific guest artists to work alongside our regular coaching staff. Supatchaya (Goy) Suvan, an internationally known aerialist and coach from Thailand, will be joining us for the entire 2011-2012 season. In addition, Nicole Pearson, who was such a hit during our Summer Intensive, will be returning from England to teach a series of workshops in October. And Anna Vigeland, a graduate of the National Circus School in Montreal, will be with us in March. We don't want you to miss the chance to work with these great artists, so we'll keep you posted on registration details for any special workshops and events.

Nike Event at Bossanova Ballroom, July 2011
|
Pendulum performers have been busy with events around Portland. In July, we staged aerial entertainment for Nike's event honoring shoe designer, Tinker Hatfield. And just this past weekend, we performed at Sultry Summer Nights, a fundraiser for Boys and Girls Aid, a Portland-based organization finding adoptive and foster homes for Oregon's kids. We also returned to Viansa Winery in Sonoma, CA to participate in their annual Italian festival.
Visit our website for information on our event offerings. |
