Shell Stachowicz

Pendulum is delighted to introduce our new company member, Shell Stachowicz.  She joins Pendulum for the 2010-2012 season after 6 years as a professional ballerina. Shell will be serving as Head of Education and Company Rehearsal Director. Before transitioning to aerialist, Ms. Stachowicz danced professionally with Ballethnic Dance Company, Indiana Ballet Theatre, as well as other professional ballet companies, musicals, and films. Shell has danced in celebration of Maya Angelou's 80th birthday. She is originally from Houston, TX, and has toured extensively throughout the United States and Russia.

It's amazing to think that the holiday season is already upon us!

The autumn has been a time of regrouping and looking to the future for Pendulum. We have welcomed new company members, started to plan a tour for High Art, and appeared at some beautiful events in Portland, including supporting two great organizations: Work for Art and our season sponsors, The Benson Hotel.

Read on for news about holiday gift ideas, new classes and details on what we have been up to the last couple of months.

Tsengee with her contortion class

Pendulum continues to build its contortion program under the instruction of world-renowned Mongolian contortionist, Tsengee Byambadorj. We are proud to be able to offer the only contortion program in the Northwest. Small class sizes ensure that the experience is safe and a fun place to improve flexibility and learn the artistry behind this unique art form.

Pendulum enjoyed appearing outdoors in Pioneer Square once again with Work for Art in support of the Standard's Volunteer Expo. We had the opportunity to embody characters from Avatar for an event sponsored by the University of Southern California. And helped our season sponsors, The Benson Hotel, celebrate the renovations of their exquisite Crystal Ballroom.

Information on all upcoming events and event entertainment offerings are on our website.
